ANZ Viaduct Events Centre

What a perfect spot for Fashion Week. Located right next to North Wharf, there’s definitely no shortage of bars and eateries nearby. It doesn’t have the same capacity as the ASB Showgrounds but I would MUCH prefer to go to an event here and I am sure international visitors would too. Good job AK!

I have been to the Viaduct Events Centre for fashion week and my goodness it was absolutely amazing. The place kind of looks abandoned as they aren’t that many events at the centre but during fashion week the place comes alive. I love how the place has so many levels, when we went to fashion week we had to explore before enjoying all the shows. Upstairs was the absolut lounge, hello vanilla vodka shots and downstairs after hours was the late night sexy show which was burlesque dancing. I can’t wait for fashion week this year since I wasn’t able to go last year.

I’ve been to the Viaduct Events Centre a few times now, mostly for work events but once for Fashion Week. It’s a pretty versatile space and has a great location, it’s amazing how it can really transform depending on what it’s being used for! The building is modern and new and it has amazing views out across the harbour. My one pet peeve with this location is the lack of parking, there really needs to be a parking building or something nearby.

I went to the Viaduct Events Centre for a work Awards night. In previous years they’ve held the night at Vector Arena so we were interested to see what it would be like. The first thing I noticed is that it’s a beautiful spot to have a venue, right on the harbour overlooking the water. When we got inside there were drinks out for us and wait staff helping us with whatever we needed.
The evening began with a big multimedia display on their screens and then we were able to see up close what was happening through these screens.
Our meals came out but we didn’t have a choice as to what we could have, the waiters simply plonked a meal in front of us. This was rather awkward when a vegetarian member of our table was handed a huge steak.
The event ended with a little dance party and we then continued the night at the very close by Britomart bars. Overall, this is a great venue in an awesome location.
