Food 2 star, environment 3 I was disappointed about this event, maybe my expectation was too high. I don’t know why they charge for the door fee, at least offer some bubble to everybody as you hv to pay for all your food. The only food I remembered was Scampi $ 20 for 6 of them was tasty, others incl mussels or oysters all very ordinary. Believe or not I had to leave and get some real food afterwards and for sure not coming back next time. Lessons learned:)

The Auckland Seafood Festival is a summer hallmark festival in Auckland. You can’t do any better than combine fantastic seafood, summer weather, live entertainment and of course good wine, beer and cider. I’ve been here a number of times now, the most recent in 2015. Ticket cost is a reasonable $ 20 for entry and you get a special money card which you top up at the festival to pay for your food and drinks. Seafood range is extensive. Every type of fish and shellfish you can imagine. Plus some more exotic takes on seafood with some south american and japanese stalls doing their own unique take. Had some excellent oysters, prawns and classic crumbed fish and chips. Food dishes are between $ 8 – 20 each and are well portioned and as fresh as you can get. Entertainment is good with a DJ and some live music. Alcohol is reasonably priced. Only downside is there’s not much shade and very few umbrella’s so wear lots of sunscreen and if you find a shady spot, guard it with your life!
