This is the best place in Auckland if you care at all about audio. No one has a better range of great gear, especially old school stuff, seen the odd reel to reel audio player or 8 track while browsing around in here. If you need any equipment fixed, this is the place to do it. I’ve seen pro audio equipment companies coming in to get their stuff repaired. Visit if only to hear what music should sound like from whatever their current turntable setup is.

They’ve been here for years. And before here somewhere else down the road. They specialise in speakers, but can fix anything. Recently I’ve realised that I was a mug taking my gear anywhere else(And I have some horror stories. believe you me. Cliff The Butcher hahaha. Nevermind) Well done for lasting the distance. And like all support agents, it’s the huge floor space of parts and stock that makes this place so amazing in the age of imports and warranties. Thank you axent Audio!!!

I’m fairly sure Axent Audio is some sort of Mecca for audiophiles; every time I’ve been in there’s been a few people just hanging about, not obviously buying anything, but just looking and listening to different types of speakers. I suspect these people just come in here to feel amongst their kind, as it’s not the sort of thing you can do hanging out in the stereo section of Harvey Norman. The people who work here are obviously the biggest audiophiles of all, which is probably as you want it for a shop that sells and repairs stereos and hi-fi equipment. You probably will feel embarrassed bringing in the broken– arse mini-system you bought on a «red spot special» from Farmers here, if only because it will definitely pail in comparison to all the beautiful units they stock, but once you get over that, they will fix it for you and have it up and running again quick smart. If you’re looking to buy, just let them know what you want, and importantly, how much money you want to spend(«Oh, I wasn’t really thinking of spending $ 10,000 on one speaker») and you’re bound to get some sort of item of audio beauty. Just don’t mention that you’re going to use it to play your J. Bieber collection on, I suspect they would cast you out of the shop.
