The inside of this establishment reminded me of the décor at Mexico though I still loved it and thought it had a good feel. Blunderbuss was a little bit of a blunder on what I heard to be good pizza’s. The duck was barely there as wasn’t the leek and the only flavour was the caramlised red onion. A nice thin base but I just wish there was a little more topping for $ 20 and a bit more flavour. Thankfully although it was not my expectation to get it free, I just wanted them to acknowledge from my complaint that the pizza was below par, The Manager took it off the bill. On a good note the Polenta fries and aioli was perfect and tasty. The Holoumi was nice with the mushrooms and salsa verde. The service was great because it was quiet and the cocktails were good too. The Manager did tell me to come back and give them another go but considering I live on the other side of the bridge and have a few good pizza places over here I don’t think I’ll bother.

Love a good pizza and Blunderbuss do it well. A fan of their thin crispy bases as well as lightness with cheese toppings. Bases are home-made and if you need it, they have gluten-free bases as well– wonderful. We got the Funghi Pesto which had mushrooms of course paired with pesto. More greens from the rocket with buffalo mozzarella and truffle oil– fancy! Also got their Quattro stagioni which had my fave proscuitto with more mushroom, olives and artichokes. Couldn’t go past without getting some sides so got their moreish shoestring fries that came with porcini salt and aioli. We sat in the front with their leather wall couch and industrial metal chairs, right next to the floor to ceiling metal grate storage units. This made our own little cubby space and separate area from the more open dining space near the central outdoor patio. Beautifully displayed wholesale tomato cans, limoncello and other more practical goods stockpiled for an apocalypse. Had a similar theme with their drinks aisle on the way to the bar which makes for a good feature. Would love to come back in the evening to sit outdoors and do drinks or get a group together and hold down one of their long tables.

I’ve been here a few times now. It’s very relaxed and not too noisy making it a great choice for weekend lunches. The décor is a bit like Mexico’s with mesh lined shelves of cans and jars on display. With an Italian inspired menu, there’s a tempting range of small sharing plates and salads, rustic pizzas and lots of sangria options. The polenta crisps were just right, crispy and salty with cumin aioli for dipping. Pizza choice for us was duck, rosemary & leek with blobs of fig and onion jam(pretty sure the pizza bases get a sprinkling of polenta too giving then added crunch). Good value at $ 30 for 2pp sharing.

There was a great range of small dishes to choose from and we choose two each — a little like Tapas style dining. The pizzas seemed a little expensive for what they were but were certainly delicious. Service was also very good, helpful, speedy and personable. But as the night went on the noise proved a bit overwhelming at times — especially when you are already sitting with a group. I would certainly go again.

Cute cosy venue, great atmosphere, average service time so don’t come here if in a rush… good calamari, iceberg lettuce salad and pizzas… Highly recommend the meatballs. Great selection of small meals and pizzas but if you’re hungry you would definitely need at least two starters and a pizza as pizzas are v small. All quite over priced for what you get too– will try the commons next time {next door}
