The thing about this Fish and Chip shop is the location. I’ve always maintained there’s no better time and place for a big parcel of greasies then at around 6pm at the beach, and for indulging that particular pleasure there’s few places better then this place in Brown’s Bay. It’s a half block back from the beach front, so you can get your fish and chips and burger and spud fritters and squid rings and enjoy take them down to the beach which is a nice minutes walk away. It seems I’m not the only person that likes to indulge this pleasure, so it’s invariably full with a big long line– it’s what you get with perfect locations — but hey, perfect excuse for an evening walk while you wait!

I was starving and had had a long day so when I sped down to Browns Bay to grab some dinner I was in no mood for a tedious wait. I pulled up to this fish and chip shop incredibly eager for my burger and saw that it was absolutely packed. There must have been about 15 people squeezed inside waiting for their order. I considered calling it quits and heading somewhere else but decided to wait it out. Surprisingly, the wait was only about 15 minutes, which I thought was very well done on the shop’s behalf! My order of a piece of fish, chips, a Hawaiian burger and four won tons came to only $ 15! And it all tasted reasonably good apart from the won tons, which were more on the average side of things. Apart from that it was A-OK.
