Fresh & tasty frozen yogurt! Doesn’t have that artificial aftertaste that Yogurt Story has. They are always changing their flavours(every day or two) and offer discounted take home packs. The young girl who works there regularly is A+++++ for customer service — polite, friendly & informed on their product!

We had had a meal across the road at Velvet Gypsy but my wife was craving something sweet so we went in here. First impressions was that it was a complete free for all — you pick and serve your own yoghurt and then you can add all the sprinkles and chocolate and all the rest. I liked the way it was laid back and you could do your own thing with the flavours — very Kiwi. It’s a lot healthier than ice cream and just as cooling on a hot day. I’d say kids would love the way you do it all yourself — they would have great fun. Fortunately, it wasn’t too busy as what you often find is that you have to queue up for the ice cream truck or whatever on hot days but this place was just in and out. What we got cost about $ 9 for two servings which is a lot cheaper than Movenpick.

I found a new place in Browns Bay where you can make your own yoghurt take away creations. You can add nuts and flavours to your liking, and there are no queues. Frolik takes a new approach to the old challenge of selling yoghurt. They simply let you choose what you want, and you can decide how much extras you want to add. There’s staff on hand to help out if you need it, but this self-serve system works a treat, and the end result is oh so yummy! This is good for both young and old, and it is not as fattening as other desserts. I’m normally not a yoghurt eater, but this was really good.

Self serve frozen yogurt seems to be the new craze. I can’t turn on the radio without hearing some jingle about gelato. But I can’t really complain because I love the stuff and was excited to try out this new one in Browns Bay. The first thing that came to mind as I walked in was«OK this place almost feels like an insane asylum… with ice cream»… It’s very white and bare and there’s not really much in the room. I guess they were going for a fresh and clean approach, which works OK, but personally I think a bit more life could have been squeezed into the place. The frozen yogurt was very moreish. I had the dark chocolate and Mars Bar because I am a chocolate freak. I topped it off with m&ms and lollies and skittles and a whole lot of other diabetes inducing crap. It was superb. And when I came to pop it on the scales, scared I’d be dishing out 7 bucks for my treat, I was surprised it was only about $ 3.50. Much cheaper than the ones I have elsewhere. Overall I had a good experience here. I was very happy with the selection of toppings and flavours but, as I said, the room could have done with some cheering up. And despite the slogan being something about a treat without the guilt I felt guilty as hell after my serving, which with the toppings, was probably half my daily calorie intake.
