Gates is a very spacious optometrist in Newmarket and focuses its range on some of the more fashionable eye-​ware available and on sporty spec’s. Think luxury stainless steel and durable rubber frames.
They stock a lot of bigger names, like Oakley and Tag Heuer. Like most optometrists it is a little hard to find exactly where the men’s section is (currently the far right corner of the store). The service is almost spot on, staff offering assistance and small pieces of information and then stepping away instead of becoming shoulder hovering interrogators. The specialty of Gate’s are the very stylish prescription sunglasses or sports specific glasses with a multitude of tints available. And the glass shelves are always so much easier to browse than display stands.
