Pony Professionnel fits into the category of one of the ever-popular-growing ‘blow wave’ bars. The difference is, they’ve designed the place in such a way that you go in for a treatment customised to your hair type, and a blow-wave. There are only four chairs in the place, so with a maximum of four customers at a time you’re never going to feel crowded. Speaking of how you feel in the salon, Pony Professionnel has an incredible interior. It’s designed by Katie Lockhart and has these great black and white tiles, nice mirrors, good light and furnishings. You feel warm in there. It’s not stark white, but still feels clean. I had a treatment and a blow wave one time. It doesn’t come too cheap, but if you’re going out or to an event, or if you need a pick me up for your hair post-Summer or Winter, this is definitely a great option. Pony Professionnel also serves as a hair care store — they sell a large variety of shampoos, conditioners, etc.

Every once in a while, when my bleached hair is feeling particularly frazzled, broken or dry, I like to book myself in for a professional hair treatment. An hour or so of ‘me time’ that involves getting pampered and injecting a bit of life into my hair. A friend recommended Pony Professionnel after she went there to get an updo done for a wedding. The place(a sister salon to Blaze just down the road) specialise in treatments, dry-styles(updo’s and the like) and wet-styles like blowouts and finger waves and the whole place has a distinctly upmarket 60’s vibe to it. It feels very modern yet retro at the same time. I was really pleased with my treatment, my stylist was really knowledgeable about what treatment would suit my hair and it’s needs the best and decided on a Hair Revival Ritual, a masque designed to inject life back into the hair complete with a lovely scalp massage beforehand! My hair still feels amazing a week afterwards and it is noticeably shinier and healthier. I’ll definitely be returning.
