Love Handi! One of the best restaurants in the area. Great view of Auckland City, the Hauraki Gulf and native bush.
Definitely try some of their tandoori food — this is what makes Handi so special. Their tandoori chicken is delicious. Beautiful marinade and smokey flavour from the tandor oven.
Seating space is good, staff is friendly, the restaurant looks very upmarket and the price is great (especially Monday-​Wednesday).

It is not just my family, but loads of locals in the know choose to book into Handi because this is a great place for groups to get together for a superb and affordable Indian feast.
Don’t be put off at how the restaurant is tucked behind the main shops, because the location is really spectacular. From the windows you look out to the beautiful bush and they have a weatherproof and heated veranda with lovely scenic views over to the city. The restaurant itself is quite large and the staff are accommodating when we’ve been there.
We love to order dishes from their Tandoor oven, which is a Handi speciality. Chicken, lamb, fish or prawns — whatever takes our fancy — is marinated with fresh herbs, skewered and cooked in the traditional Indian oven to impart that distinctive flavour which I cannot recreate in my kitchen.
Butter chicken is great here and I am loving their Lamb Saagwala.
