I’ve been going to this place since I was eleven. That’s a LONGTIMEAGO. The owners and staff are always cheerful, funny and warm — I moved out of Titirangi years ago, they still recognise me every time and ask me about my family. The food is great and their hummus dip is always a good start: it comes with creamy spiced hummus and soft pita, as well as a drizzling of tomato sauce and greek yogurt. The kebab bread is always cooked fresh, never too chewy. Eat in or take away, the quality of the food is always fantastic and the salads are always fresh. Coffee leaves something to be desired, but I’ll forgive them for that. Don’t go expecting fine dining food — keep in mind that it IS just a kebab shop, and that’s what you’re getting. A kebab.

I’ve never dined in at a kebab shop. I actually forget that you can do that. I’m used to the caravan ones or the ones where you pay no attention the actual store and you wait in your car until your kebab is cooked then grab it and leave. Titirangi Village Kebab is more like a restaurant, but remember, it’s a kebab restaurant, not a «Turkish restaurant». There’s outdoor seating, which is great in summer and fits in well with the rest of the Titirangi strip. My favourite kebab from here is definitely the falafel with all the trimmings, and they always give you plenty of rice. It’s cheap as chips too, between $ 10 and $ 15 depending on what you order.

Great family restaurant, we love to walk the 20 minutes up the hill to the Village with dog in tow to dine in at the best kebab joint in town! Outdoor seating means that pooch is well accommodated or while we all place our orders. Our favourites are combo kebabs and falafel kebabs, at $ 12 this is a delicious hearty meal. You get to watch your kebabs being sliced, diced then cooked in front of you and the choice of sides and dressings are great. We love to finish our meal with Turkish Delight and a coffee. The restaurant atmosphere is very friendly, laid back and has a Turkish vibe with ethnic music. Inevitably we bump into another family we know at this much-loved restaurant. When we are not dining in, we are taking out.

This is my favourite kebab place in New Zealand, and that is a big call. And yes I may be biased because it is my local, but honestly I have tried so so many kebab places over the years, and this one really dishes it up. It is run by the same crowd for the last 10 or so years that I’ve been out west, so you can expect good service, a friendly chat with the boys behind the counter, quick service and a delicious hearty kebab at the end of your wait. You can dine in or take away and the menu provides the classics but with the ability to modify to your desires, the options for toppings are great. Eating here you know will get something great and you will enjoy it. The produce and ingredients are fresh and the servings are very generous. Definitely worth a village visit.

When my family moved to Titirangi they were excited to be in an area with a wider range of dining options(having come from Waterview, which has two dairies and a pet shop). Shortly after they moved they enthusiastically took me to the Turkish restaurant they’d discovered, to have the delicious, exotic Turkish food. What they meant was now that they lived in a proper suburb, they’d found a kebab shop. And as exciting as it was for them, it’s a kebab shop. A good kebab shop, with good kebabs(both wrapped and on rice), and apparently if you dine in there’s a wine list which suggests a certain level of class that isn’t the norm. But as far as the food goes, if you’ve ever had a kebab before, this is a good version of that. About as exotic as bolognese.
