Bring the kids, there’s a gate to keep runners at bay and a sandpit to occupy busy hands. The only real problem for those with little ones is the pricy menu. It’s fine if you’re just in for a coffee with other parents but you may want to skip brunch if you are on a budget. Otherwise the food is good and the coffee is great along with smiling, friendly and helpful staff. Stripe is a nice getaway for anyone who wants to duck out from a busy day or get your caffeine fix if you are a mum on the go out west. Street parking only, could be an issue if you are meeting friends but it’s a short walk from the parking up the top of the hill across from The art gallery. If need be.

Beautifully presented and delicious food everytime I have been here(about 10 times), a little pricier than other cafés, not that they don’t make up for it($ 70 for 3 breakfasts and 2 coffees) also amazing colorful vibrant venue, friendly helpful staff, great fresh cabinet food, and lovely outdoor area/garden. Highly recommended best café in Titirangi for sure.

Stripe is a neat little addition to the Titirangi Café scene. With some tough competition up the road in the form of the long standing Hardware Café, I was surprised to find it bustling with activity the first time I visited. A lively atmosphere and some great decorating add to the overall vibe. The menu was pretty standard, all day breakfast and pasta of the day etc. I was a little annoyed to find the kitchen had run low on a few ingredients which limited my choice of meal, so instead I settled for a build your own breakfast option which turned out pretty good, but not necessarily great value for money. I assume the kitchen shortages are just a teething problem; for a new business, probably not out of the ordinary. Overall, I think that this is going to be a café worth revisiting, once they have settled in.

This place probably should really get at least three and a half stars, and if, next time I go in something stands out above the ordinary then I will up their star value from me, I promise! It has actually only been the once that I have gone into this café for a quick coffee and sweet treat before heading over to the monthly local market. So the review is based on first impressions. The venue has a lovely setting, and was busy with patronage the day of our mid morning visit. The service was friendly and helpful but took a while(but it was busy after all). Hubby and I amused ourselves with watching all the locals, noticing for the first time how the majority of middle aged women with their designer threads, all dressed the same, and also appeared to all have partners at their side that looked like workmen — brickies, labourers, painters etc. It was an uncanny consistent coupling. The coffee and sweet pastry treat was lovely, the place overall just lost that lil’ something for me. Perhaps just too mainstream for my liking?
