I used to buy the $ 4.50 chicken salad sandwiches here for lunch on a regular basis, until I switched my loyalties to the nearby Habitual Fix. I still drop in for a regular cappuccino/muffin fix, which for a tasty breakfast treat at $ 3.50 is hard to beat. The lady who bangs out the cappuccinos six days a week is light on conversation but she-of-few-words makes a quick and tasty coffee and remembers all the regular’s orders, which makes ordering as easy as saying«yes please». The only downside to this place is it’s takeaway only, and all the options are carbalicious, still you get what you pay for and there are plenty of nearby places to sit(Westhaven/Vic Park) on a sunny day.

The only really bad coffee I have had to date in Auckland. Regrettably, the service was not much better either. I felt as though I was really ruining the barristers day by ordering a flat white. The cup was slopped together with no care or attention and sort of ‘slung’ across the counter at me. Having watched my order being assembled it didn’t really come as a surprise that the experience of consuming my coffee was not much better than while I was standing waiting. I don’t think I would even give this particular café the benefit of the doubt and return for a second go. The saving grace is that it is probably a dollar cheaper than most other vendors. They also have a sushi counter, but I have never seen anything on it but probably come through at the wrong time of day.
