A great local café, always busy, hard to find table available. Great taste and proper sized portion.

One of my favorite cafes in Auckland. The cabinet is always full of the most incredible looking,(and delicious tasting), selection of cakes and savouries. Great coffee too.

Most adorable little spot I’ve ever been to in NZ! Dreamy raspberry cream donut and a dinosaur table marker too! Décor and ambiance is on point!

I love this place, the food is great and the service is great! Their desserts are definitely one of the best in Auckland, no wonder the place is so busy! However just something for a room for improvement, everytime I go there seems to be lots of flies around, and the food on display is always a prime target. Otherwise this place is absolutely amazing, has great vibes and definitely somewhere to visit!

First of all, when you’re heading to this place. Don’t be alarmed that you’re heading to a residential street :) The place where they decided to set the store suits the place very well, it’s mellow, peaceful and just overall a lovely place go have some time together with those you care about :) They have a very small menu, but more things on the left hand side of the store such as donuts, quiche, sandwiches and so on. As seen in the picture the dish has an egg along which some tomatoes and other things :) on the side, they’ve given you two slices of ciabatta, which I have to admit… Is a bit sad. With the amount of egg and everything you have in the bowl, I don’t think they see how two pieces of 10 cm ciabatta is suppose to help finish all of that. On the side note the sauce is salty for my liking! Needed my ice coffee to actually finish my meal off Their water had a stick of cinnamon and mint leaves. Which helped when you felt thirsty so kudos to you for that !! Overall 3⁄5 as there was some needed improvement. This place isn’t for someone like students as its not as cheap as many thinks !

Love it, super popular though and seating is confusing, and never a guarantee– go in off peak times or take away.

Tried 3 different items, was a bit disappointed, not the kind of fine dessert i was expected maybe. Pudding I was attracted by the look of it and it’s end up like a sticky mixed taste or u just can’t tell what it is but the heavy chunk. Chocolate cake was so so like all other shops. Food is not just abt the looking I must say, u hv to win me for the taste it’s how the efforts in it. Again maybe I’m just too picky. I much prefer the dessert from nearby the heart of flavour, it is the true fine dessert.

Little and Friday is SO good. I’ve been to the flagship store a couple of times now — and love it! It’s got a fairly big seating area inside and also two nice outdoor areas, out the front and out the back which has a kids play area — perfect for a summer afternoon. They have plenty of savoury and sweet food in the window to choose from, a great selection of drinks — and remember to check the wall behind the counter for specials — I saw a bunch of fresh honeycomb once! This is a great spot for a small group, It gets busy really quickly though!

Little and Friday in Belmont is my new weekend eatery and not just because of the charasmatic lovely front of house guy behind the counter. The choices are huge ranging from Quiches, fritatta, cakes, donuts and pastries. I covered most of the offerings by going halves with a friend in the pumpkin and feta quiche and 3 cakes — Lemon and coconut which was delightfully moist and my favourite, chocolate, caramel and beetroot cake and lastly bread and butter pudding. The sizes are generous so you really do have to share. Plan to get a takeaway box. The venue is rambling and full of character. The service good and the patronage heeving. I will be back real soon and not just for the eye candy.

I finally made it to the all L and F mothership. I was a little surprised by its suburban surroundings, but it had all the cool and charm of its Newmarket sibling. Offering a great range of cakes and lunchtime sandwiches and frittatas, not to mention their signature(large but irresistible doughnuts filled with jam, banana caramel and chilli chocolate), the coffee was perfect and the service was slick. On the edges were many packed and bottled products begging to be taken home. Their cookbook also looked like good food porn for a rainy Sunday. All in all, this Auckland icon seemed to deserve many more visits and I look forward to returning soon.

Amazing coffee and the tastiest sweet and savoury cabinet foods I’ve ever had — and that’s a big call. Everything is great from here(which is why there is usually a big line). A good tip is to get it takeaway as it’s incredibly hard to find a spare table or place to sit. I love the sandwiches, hot pies and pastries and of course anything with chocolate in it. Have only been to Newmarket but am on a mission to get to the Belmont one as well

Nestled in a residential area of Belmont, Takapuna on the Shore, you can smell the deliciousness far away. Best known for their home made and hand made pastry — it was tempting to order everything in the food cabinet to try a mouthful of each delight! Walking into the café is like walking into a homey kitchen. While most things like the table, chairs, and shelves are painted white, all the furniture somehow seems to all be different — different type of chairs, tables(or boxes), different types of cutlery. To top it off, a lot of the things had been donated with love by family and friends, giving Little & Friday an asymmetrical feeling. Yet everything fit together just fine. Kim’s philosophy is simple — she believes in transparency and letting customers see the food being prepped and baked in the kitchen before being brought to the front store. It’s also about using quality, organic, and free range ingredients. For Kim, nothing is wasted at the end of the day — if it’s not sold, it’s made into something else. I must admit, it’s the texture and quality of the pastry here that makes it so different from other patisseries and bakeries. Take a bite into any quiche, cheese stick, or cake, and you’ll understand what I mean. The pastry is flaky and soft enough but you’re not overloaded with grease — though I can’t imagine the amount of butter and sugar that contributes to making Little and Friday taste so good This really is not the type of food I have everyday(maybe in primary school it was, but not now!). But for a Sunday afternoon along with a coffee? Definitely. The sausage roll wasn’t a $ 2 tiny roll where there is more pastry than meat, and the cheese stick didn’t taste like bread with cheese on top! And some of you might agree — but I believe this is how cheese sticks and sausage rolls were meant to be made!

I’ve been wanting to try Little and Friday since I’ve read about it, it keeps on appearing on people’s top lists. Yesterday we discovered why. We didn’t eat at the café but rather did a cheeky ‘grab-and-run’ with my daughter who was off sick that day. We came late in the piece and of course all the savoury was gone, we expected that, and made our reluctant decision to buy sugary treats(yes my daughter was sick, but no 8 year old is THAT sick to refuse a donut) The tastes were different to what I expected, I guess I expected a smooth blend of common tastes, I was surprised and delighted with a series of sharp, tart, smooth and sweet all in the same dish. Pure taste, L&F lives up to expectations, its a princely sum but you swag quite a reward.

Little & Friday in Belmont is located in the heart of suburbia. Great parking right outside, or on the street(conveniently) opposite. The café has expanded since my last visit — so now there is another arm of the café(with additional indoor seating and pay point) where you enter, that was not operational today. I assume this opens when they’re busy — at the weekends or lunchtimes… the coffee is ‘supreme’ beans and the food is exceptional, albeit expensive. Pastries, bespoke quiches, melt-in-your-mouth cakes, everything to delight your taste buds really. My coffee took 25 minutes to arrive, into my meeting? Not really acceptable for a Monday morning? I love the black&white portrait photography, the stylised tables with old-school milk bottles full of water, cinnamon stick and basil. Always busy, that’s a good sign.

Remains my favourite coffee and cake shop in Auckland. They have expanded their shop and now you can come here for dinner too. On our next to try restaurant for eating out! Their chocolate beetroot salted caramel cake so yummy!

Have been a huge fan since first hearing of it and going there. Never fails to deliver. Been introducing it to everyone I know. Love Kim’s philosophy and her beautiful space and of course, her amazing food. Have tried many things here– on the different occasions I’ve made it out and they’ve all been delicious. Favourites: cream donut, the nut pie and kumara galette. You really can’t go wrong though– have yet to try her amazing caramel slice, chocolate and beetroot cake and new chili chocolate donut! Love the new ‘After Hours’ menu and that dinner space just next door. Such a neat concept and loving the hot, warm savoury food. Great communal tables and space indoor and outdoors with a neat garden behind the store with a fridge of ‘After Hours’ meals and packaged treats and her great cookbooks. A huge fan and recommend fully!

Little and Friday are now doing dinners — we did the takeout option — on Friday of course. The options were roast chicken or lamb moussaka and chicken won the day. It was delicious — herby, moist and succulent with a generous side of coleslaw on one and potatoes on the other. We had leftovers for the next day — well one of us did! We also took a dessert-of course– pannacotta in real cute little jars and up to the L&F sweet standard. Everything was awesome and it should definitely be on the list for those days when you don’t feel like cooking.

Basically obsessed with this place. …to the point that I consider 30 minute detour to L&F as «on the way». Locally sourced ingredients(many coming directly from their garden in the back), fresh juices, high quality coffee(and a ginger latte!) as well as savory and sweet treats to make a girl(or guy!) swoon. Today I opted for the grilled halloumi, walnut & pesto tart, brimming with caramelized onions and adorned with tasty roasted tomatoes. My meal was accompanied by one their uniquely delicious sodas(grapefruit & hops), which was zesty and refreshing for such a hot summer’s day. I was pretty full at this point but just couldn’t bring myself to leave without a gorgeous dessert. The lemon and coconut cake swayed me today — it was definitely good but I still think the gin, lemon & almond one still has my heart… for now.

Love love love this place! We happened upon Little and Friday on an exploration to the little footbridge at the end of the street(if you haven’t been, check it out — pretty cute). Stopped in to see what was on offer for brunch and was totally blown away. Gorgeous foods, super cute atmosphere with giant terrariums, mismatched china cups with decorative spoons… swoon. The coffee is amazing, the doughnuts are amazing, the cakes and pastries are amazing, basically, you can’t go wrong. I also love that they use mostly organic, local ingredients, and everything is made on site. This place surpasses my favorite bakery cafes in Brooklyn, San Francisco, maybe even Paris. Not to be missed!
