This restaurant is absolutely darling and was such a sweet discovery on our way to the Airbnb! Try the savory waffles or Benedict! Oh, and the staff was super sweet + accommodating!

Fabulous coffee(I think one if the best Latte s in Auckksnd — if the owner is on the machine — which IS saying something) great porridge with unsweetened yogurt and oats & chia seeds and Plums or berries — service always friendlly — this is our local café and the owner is an incredibly thoughtful attentive patron who remembers what his customers have and how they like it — a personal touch which is invaluable with so many competing cafes in the area —

I walked past Little Red Cup for 4months without even batting an eyelid until last week when I was in the area and on the verge of being hangry. Formally Dida’s, Little Red Cup have halved the cabinet space and doubled the seating(smart move), which means it’s now a pretty good spot for groups. What is left of the cabinet is filled with delicious(and rather huge) sangas, wraps and savoury pastries. There is also a fair number of good-looking sweat treats. For my first visit, I played it safe and ordered the vegetarian sandwich, which they ever so kindly toasted for me. As far as sandwiches go, i’ve gotta say this one was pretty up there — layer upon layer of thinly sliced, grilled vege, just the right amount of cheese and creamy mayo, all in between two think slices of focaccia AND given it’s size, I thought it was a steal at $ 8. The décor, on the other hand, is a bit predictable — exposed light filaments, pictures frames randomly placed on a feature wall — but what really got me was the slide show picture frame on the counter of menu items. I don’t know why these rub me the wrong way so much but they do. Perhaps a weee bit tacky… Anyway, this certainly won’t stop me from going back. After all, a good sanga can be hard to find!
