I’ve been here a few times & I’ve not been disappointed. Service has been prompt & w/a smile. In fact our table waiter really paid attention to our specific needs, which was impressive. Our meals were delicious, ample & hot. No complaints. Perhaps the only issue, this place is rather popular so there maybe a brief wait at the bar & it maybe a wee bit crowded. But hey, it’s popular & the food is really good. A good solid four stars for Lonestar!

Have eaten there a few times now, portions very filling. Service prompt and friendly. Hardly any delay even when arriving without a booking.

The Manukau Lone Star has a lot to live up to in terms of service. This is not a place where you would go to bring a first date, or to impress clients. Although the meals were HUGE and tasty, the waiting staff at best was presentable, at worst, were unflattering and could assist with a loss of appetite. On our latest visit, we had booked a table as there were going to be a few of us. However the table was not prepared for at least half an hour after the booking time. Although the food came out in a timely fashion and the meals were tasty and filling, it was a relief to walk back out into the fresh air.

Yee haa! Unleash your inner texan as you travel into the west for an evening meal, dessert or drinks with fellow cowboys. Set up like a typical saloon and blaring some country music(which can be annoying if you dislike the old melancholy tunes of ‘my girlfriend left me and my doggy died’ yodelling throughout the night), The Lone Star is meant to make you feel like you should’ve worn your moccasins or a poncho. The staff are always friendly, onto it and quick as they can be. I’ve been here numerous times, and rarely had to wait overly long for food, even on a busy Saturday night. Warning: The food portions are actually the size of Texas, but they are mighty tasty! Go for the Blackfoot Fish, the Dixie Chicken or the Johnny Cash stash. If you’re feeling really carnivorous, get a rack of ribs. Your dog back home will love you for that.
