Martins is my F&C local and more. The Chinese dishes probably better than your average & if you request they’ll lighten up on the oil in their dishes. Fantastic value for money! Also when I have a pork bun craving they’re right down the road. Perfect.

Martin Takeaways is our local for fish & chips, burgers and really good Chinese food! Prices are cheap, food is delicious, and the family that run it are always happy to see their regulars. No matter if it is a big order or small order, when you call it in they always say 10 minutes! :) They have really good meal deals, but just a heads up there’s no substituting items. I love their deep fried chicken burger, wontons, sweet n’ sour pork on fried rice, and hash browns. They also offer quite a few noodle bowl options as well which will surely leave you with left overs. When we move out of the neighborhood, I’ll truly miss having Martin’s Takeaway as our local!

Delicious chow mein for $ 9.50, Hawaiian, beef or chicken burgers from $ 4.70 — Martin Takeaways is really cheap, even for a fish and chippie. And best of all, this is a perfect example of getting your monies worth — while it’s cheap, the food at Martin’s is delicious too. Never greasy and soft, their chips are always crisp and crunchy, their fritters never oily and their spring rolls fresh — it’s a great wee takeaway store tucked in the back streets of Mt Albert! While undoubtedly great value, Martin Takeaways offer great specials too. Deals like an egg burger, fish, hot dog, potato fritter and chips for $ 8.50, and two cans of fizzy drink for $ 3 are readily available and are brilliant value for money. The family that run this Chinese takeaway and fish and chip store are really friendly and recognise you as being a local which is always nice. Really, the only negative I can think of about Martin Takeaways is that their magazines are pretty out of date, so there isn’t much to do while you wait for your food. But hey, if that’s as bad as it gets who cares — the food is so good you’ll soon forget about the old gossip mags!
