Otautahi Tattoo

I was looking to get my very first tattoo. I was nervous and wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted. I had an idea in mind but really wanted to flesh it out with a tattoo artist and come up with an original piece of art together. I first stopped at The Tattooed Heart and tried to explain what I wanted and they essentially told me to go home and look up what I wanted online and then come back. Which is exactly what I did not want to do. I walked into otauthai tattoo and told the gentleman at the counter what I wanted to do and he instantly stood up and brought me to the back to meet a tattoo artist named Annie. She was WONDERFUL. I explained to her what I wanted and we spent a hour together sketching the tattoo and fleshing it out until I got exactly what I wanted. She was incredibly talented and the tattoo is beautiful. If I ever visit New Zealand again and want a second tattoo I will absolutely return here!
