Oh! How I miss it already… We went to Piha beach last weekend and on our way stopped at the Piha lookout. After 15 – 20 minutes of driving on Piha Road, which I have to say, it is also a beautiful drive to take; you come to this lookout, which is really amazing. The view of Piha beach is astonishing and you can’t actually help it but want to get down there to take a close look to that great rock. Breathtaking.

All the views down onto Piha Beach are amazing. Amazeballs, even. It’s the famous view when you’re driving down to Piha from the top of the hill. The one where the whole beach stretches out before you, with Lion Rock planted firmly in the middle. Call me biased, but I think it’s one of the best views in Auckland. It’s at least one of the most famous, most memorable. It’s like it’s calling out to you, come! Come down to Piha and be happy! At least that is how it makes me feel when I make the drive out to one of West Auckland’s best beaches. If you’ve never actually stopped at the lookout, you should. And take a photo. I guarantee it will be a good one. Piha is beautiful and the lookout is the perfect spot to soak it all in, whether it is the middle of summer or not!

There’s nothing that can make you feel more on top of the world than stopping in at the Piha Lookout. It’s one of my favourite views in New Zealand(and maybe the world but I’m a bit biased). I love coming over the hill and seeing the deep blue ocean calling my name. It’s a mandatory stop for my friends and I and we always have a photo up on instagram in no time. It also is awesome to see Piha in all its glory. The surfers in the water look like little ants with Lion Rock towering over them. It is also a cute as place for a date if you’re lacking in the money area. She’ll love you forever if you take a cute picnic or even get a coffee from the Piha café and go sit up there. Seriously enough for a romance novel if you ask me.

This was a picture perfect Sunday morning and I got the totally awesome shot of Piha from the lookout. Indescribably beautiful views to be had from Piha Lookout on the ridge just before you meander down Piha Road to this iconic West Auckland beach. It’s pretty much mandatory to stop and take a photo from this vantage point, the view of Lion Rock, North and South Piha beaches and beyond is just stunning. Of course it changes with the time of day and season so you’ll never get bored with the view. This is our«must do» whenever we have out of town visitors come to stay. It doesn’t get any better than this in terms of scenic lookouts.
