This café is pretty much an essential stop for many travellers heading up North. The perfect place to stop and get some petrol, food, and the mandatory coffee for the designated driver. I don’t know if this place is ever not busy, because certainly every time I have driven past it is cranking with business. It is in a prime location really; just far enough out of Auckland, and the last convenient stop for a good half hour or so; all without having to leave the main road. The bakery items here are average, certainly good fuel though for a long road trip. The coffee is better. I guess a lot of practice has enabled the staff here to perfect the art.
