Royal Thai Restaurant

Royal Thai is a great value for money restaurant or for takeaways. We have been here many times before. It’s good to know they cater for food allergies, as my partner is celiac and cannot have gluten. Thy appear to take this seriously. Well done!!!

I was ravenous for a good meal, and having tried Royal Thai in the past my partner and I decided to pop in for takeout on the way home.
As I phoned in our order from the northern motorway, glancing at the menu online, I picked out our meals– go for it my man said!
So here is what I ordered: seafood basket– deep fried seafood with chilli sauce, Thai chicken satay sticks, and for the mains delicious combination seafood red curry and a chicken noodle stir fry with vegetables. I was told my order would be ready within 20 minutes.
The service you receive even on takeout is exceptional, kind and gentle– I even had a Thai blessing bow as I accepted my order.
The red curry seafood mix was just amazing, full of squid, prawns and lots of scallops– I enjoyed this so much; it had so much to love through spice, and such silky coconut cream, just delicious. I recommend the chicken noodle dish for its fresh herbs and flavour and an abundance of fresh veggies.
I hope to return again for a date with my man in the restaurant as it carries a real peace and tranquility.

Royal Thai is one of a string of established Asian restaurants in Highbury that offers plenty of reliably tasty (if not ground-​breaking) fare for very reasonable prices. Have come here a few times for this reason and that, most recently for an in-law’s birthday. Food is consistently good and well-​priced at around the $ 20 mark. My favoured dish is a lovely coconut/​peanut chicken curry thing — huge portion, tasty as. My only complaint here is the over-​zealous water service — turn your head and there’s a jug over your shoulder pouring if you’ve taken so much as a sip!
