Kyushu Sushi

I have got to say the location of Kyushu is just perfect for me and my little boy of two.
Located about 100 metres from our weekly hang out of Birkenhead library and the perfect lunch escape in chilled surroundings.
I find that popping in before the mid day to two afternoon lunch rush, is always the best option, so I head in around 11 – 12. The Sushi is amazingly fresh and tasty.
Today I had some delicious alternatives to my usual, spicy chilli chicken and tempura prawn/​salad sushi.
I like the fact that the store is not located right on a broadway type rd so you do get that chilled view and relaxed vibe which makes for a much more enjoyable lunch.
The staff are all very friendly, and I liked that fact there was a little dolls house for my son to play with while I finished my lunch.
I will be back again no doubt on my mum and son date in Birkenhead.

This is one of a proliferation of cheap Japanese places in Birkenhead, all within a couple of hundred metres of each other. This is a good thing, however competition doesn’t necessarily mean bargains. I bought a takeaway lunch for two from here and didn’t get much change back from $ 25. The food was good but the variety of sushi available is pretty limited. I haven’t seen too many customers in here so perhaps they are trying not to be wasteful with ingredients, still, if they made more interesting sushi perhaps they would get a bit more business. I suggest they try some fried chicken varieties. Mmm fried chicken…
