Its not bad food, its just, not particularly good food. The meat and veg meals were really big serving sizes for the price, which was pleasantly surprising. But it just didn’t really hit the spot in terms of taste. The Satay Chicken on veg was a bit tasteless, and was lacking enough satay sauce to actually make it satay chicken. The fish & chips side of things is alright though, if that’s what you’re looking for.

Maybe my family has matured in our takeaway tastes, or maybe Super Wok has simply got worse — what used to be our standard Friday night fare, is now no longer on the option list. They serve up your standardised European Chinese food(such as sweet and sour chicken and the like), but it just has this opposable greasiness about it, and more than usual than what you would expect from a takeaway shop like this. You’re probably just better off getting the equally as greasy yet more deep-fried and scrumptious fish and chip fare available. My ‘favourite’(if you could call it that) would be the squid rings — 100% processed, but they are cheap and tasty and fill a hole, which sometimes is all you want on a Friday night and can’t be bothered cooking.

Situated in multicultural Glen Innes, Super Wok is a delicious Chinese takeaway. Super Wok offer a great variety of fried rice, with traditional ingredients and flavours as well as a brilliant deal on their famous chicken wings. For just ten dollars you can get five pieces of ‘super’ chicken marinated in a secret recipe of deliciousness! They also have dozens of other deals and offers available — each of which are great value. My friend Pat ate at Super Wok virtually every day after school and although he now lives out of town, every time he comes to Auckland he makes sure to pop in and grab a meal. It’s that good. Though the food is undoubtedly delicious, Super Wok’s average appearance definitely leaves room for improvement, but this doesn’t mean the flavour or friendly service is compromised! If you’re ever in Glenn Innes, give Super Wok a try — you won’t regret it.
