Tank is reliable and I love their Caesar wrap or salad but not the price. High St tank used to have good service but it went down hill. From the guy talking on the phone instead of serving, to not saying thanks when inpay them. I always ask for no egg and the last time they did include egg, was one time too many. So now I walk down to downtown tank. Or walk to flavor on Vulcan lane.

I don’t know if I just made a terrible choice(tank mango), but I was totally disappointed with this place. The price of their smoothies is high($ 7ish? — then again, that seems to be the NZ going rate). Then the smoothie was just disgustingly sweet. It clearly had a crapload of added sugar, perhaps through the sorbet? I don’t know, but I won’t bother next time around. I could hardly finish it, and for $ 7, that’s a shame.

Look, I’m an avid bloody juice fan. I don’t like fizzy drinks because I’m a freak, and juice is the only thing that hits the spot. I get freshly squeezed juice on the reg. Tank is a pretty reliable juice bar. I mean, you know what you’re going to get and it very rarely ever varies in quality. It’s consistent. I get the Tank C every time. It’s pineapple, orange and lemon juice. The pricing is a little steep, but I think that’s the same with all freshly squeezed juice places. It kills me that the difference between a medium and a large size juice is something like, 80 cents or whatever, because it always makes me choose large and I always, always feel sick afterwards. There is such thing as juice overload. If you want, you can get shots of wheatgrass and healthy junk mixed into your juice or smoothie, but personally it’s not my jam. The High Street branch is always warm inside, I don’t know why. The shared table seating is okay but I recommend you take out for a better juice experience.

I love Tank wherever I find it. All their smoothies are so zesty and I always have plenty of energy and a spring in my step after having one. This one in High Street is my favourite for a couple of reasons. First, it’s on High Street so only a five minute walk from the university so it’s very conveniently located. Second, it has a grass wall which I like to caress a la the furry wall scene from the Russell Brand film ‘Get Him to the Greek’. Anyway, I digress… Fully recommend the Carribean smoothie — mango, coconut and all sorts of other goodness in it, chuck an energy shot in and you’ll feel like you can do anything!

I like anything in the CBD that isn’t another gross fastfood chainstore. And I really like that Tank is now right in town. Usually a preserve of suburban shopping malls, Tank shops produce reliably yummy juice to a standard recipe, and like to add in things you wouldn’t normally think about putting in your body(like shots of mushed up grasses and stuff). The High Street branch gets very stuffy and crowded at peak hours, but the staff have been really patient with my annoying off-the-menu requests. If you’re thirsty in the CBD, there’s also another Tank on the corner of Elliot and Victoria Streets, which I think from memory is all shiny and new.
