Te Toki Retreat

I recently went to Te Toki Retreat for a good friend’s wedding — they’d hired out the entire venue for the weekend and had a garden ceremony followed by reception up in the main house on the Saturday and a casual BBQ lunch on the Sunday.
The day was a stunner but what made it even more special was the venue. Te Toki is a place where you feel completely away from the rest of the world — tucked in a beautiful garden setting with rare native plants. Even though you aren’t by the water, it truly is a magical location.
The main house has a large kitchen, a lovely indoor/​outdoor living area with a wood fire and even a spa. Further up the hill from the main house there is a further self-​contained guest house, lovely in its own right, and in this instance the bridal party stayed here for the duration of the weekend.
I loved every minute of the weekend and the owners also seemed lovely. Definitely worth a thought if you’re planning an event or just want a romantic weekend away.
