Have dined here twice and it’s pretty good. Not over the top amazing but pretty good. It’s a great concept and The Burger Bach has a fantastic location right next to Takapuna beach. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare on long hot summer days, especially when being forced to pay for ‘Pay & Display’ parking from Monday right through to Saturdays! For a quick & casual bite to eat this place definitely does the job. Child friendly too with a small kids menu.

You think of a bach as a set of small outhouses connected to a larger shack that might have kind of view of a beach somewhere. Luckily this isn’t the case here, the buyer bach is nestled into a group of shops in the heart of Takapuna, at least one of those criteria is true though, the burger bach is about 250m from Takapuna beach. The inside is simple enough, the staff were friendly and happy.(yeah happy is actually a measurement in my book) and the atmosphere is super-casual. The Burger Bach serves GOOD food, not hipster food with a perfectly sculpted lettuce leaf and four tiny patties arranged just so, no. this is classic food, this is perfectly cooked meat, fresh lettuce, additions of your choice and some amazing caramelised onions that I cannot fault. If you’re coming back from the beach, if you want a snack with some great taste, then the burger bach is your place.

This burger place definitely has that relaxed beach feel to it very welcoming to walk in and the burgers are very good and the patty itself is fresh the filling they use in the burgers also fresh also i could recommend this place to any of my friends for a lazy weekend night out a welcome addition to Takapuna also it is licensed with a good selection of beers and ciders to go with the burgers for me I would choose this place over a place like burger fuel with an owner that understand the tastes that people like.

This new burger joint hails from Gore– with a range of cool-named burgers to suit any eater, great milkshakes and other classic Summer foods. Just on The Strand– on your way down to the beach, there is a cute wee space where the Bach lives with it’s bookshelf feature wall with a mixed array of old school Kiwi items such as the Weetbix tin, weathered board-games and other knick knacks. A cool upside dingy above the large communal table with hanging lights. A nice couch with crochet cover and chair to sit if you’re after takeaways instead of dine-ins on the cushioned wooden benches or metal red-black-white chairs at smaller tables. Side-note; they have the coolest bathrooms where the walls are completely covered in board-games. If you’re after chicken– the Captain Chook is a winner with it’s bacon+ chick breast combination, and you can choose cranberry or apricot sauce. Super generous with that and the aioli– so be warned it might be a bit of a mess to eat– but oh so delicious with it’s avocado, tomato, red onion, big leafy lettuce and cheese stack. Very filling– so come hungry. High praise for their milkshakes– got their vanilla. Surprised by the tall cup it came in and it’s weight– they must put ice cream in it or something, but so creamy and yum. Can’t wait to try their other flavours(chocolate, strawberry+ banana). For a childhood throwback– order the Churrios, which is a small bowl of cheerio sausages with ketchup. Definitely come in
