Ok scrambled eggs and coffee for myself but the dairy free scrambled eggs came out swimming on a plate full of water with toast sodden in it. We sent the plate back to have water removed and new toast, eggs came back nicely stacked but the sodden toast was retoasted resulting in an inedible crispy mush — unacceptable. Still can’t figure out why the eggs came out in so much fluid???

Having been hanging out a lot on this street in Remuera area. The Deli is a spot for friends and family’s catching up. Homey, Cozy, full of breakfast and lunch options. You can find from regular scones, slices, pie to meat loaf, Turkish bread, beetroot salad, fish cake etc. of course there is a menu to add your hot dish desire. Sitting by the French door outside, you will find running people pop in for takeaway coffee, new tourists coming sitting down for a relaxed coffee. or people living in the neighbourhood bringing their family for lunch treat. That’s always vivid scenery for a Café recognised by its local people. Next time swing by for a flat white and carrot cake. You won’t be let down. Just stay open minded and try!

The Deli is a fine place of choice for brunch or lunch any day of the week, particularly the seats outside if it is a nice day(however you have to be quick to spot these seats when they come available because thats what everyone else is looking out for as well!). They serve Roasted Addiqtion coffee(and yes I did spell that correctly) which is usually brewed to perfection. We tried the poached eggs and the muesli with poached plums, which were both as equally delicious. They also have a deli at the back(hence their title ‘the Deli’) which serves all sorts of interesting looking nibbles, such as pies, pasta, chocolate and shaved meat. The only criticism I have is that the wait staff were a bit casual and disinterested, sort of seemed like they didn’t want to be there. However they are one of the few cafes in Remuera to offer wifi, so could be a nice activity to come here with your computer and peruse the wifi in the sun.

This is a lovely little spot to frequent on occasion. It can be a little expensive but it is always worth the money. They do great cabinet food and really good menu items also. You notice what you are paying for when you receive your meal — they don’t hold back on the amazing ingredients. The coffee is not overly amazing — but i’m a coffee snob. It’s decent enough for some. The service is outstanding though — very nice staff who go above and beyond to please customers.

The Deli in Remuera is what I personally think one of the better cafes to choose from in the Remuera shops. They have a large selection of cabinet food(sweet and savoury), a large menu to choose from and also a wide variety of Phoneix juices, Charlies juices and other assorted drinks including coffee. Located in the heart of Remuera, this café is a popular meeting spot with locals, workers in the area and those who have driven by and thought it would be nice to pop in. They have quite a large selection of gluten free options, and if you ask nicely they can also make dairy-free scrambled eggs. As well as a large selection of cabinet food, there is also just as large a selection of pre-made frozen foods. Perfect if you’re in a rush and don’t have time to make dinner. This café is on the expensive side. They also do not have a liquor licence. I would recommend trying the muesli as it is delicious(but on the sweet side), or if you have more of a savoury tooth you can’t go past the scrambled gets with spinach and feta. Out of the slices in the cabinet my favourite would have to be the Tan Square(a.k.a chocolate and caramel slice). Delicious!
