The Great Tong Noodle Box

Last year was a sad time for noodle consumers in Auckland as they faced The Great Noodle-​box Drought of 2012. We agonized through the change to Plastic Containers. Now we glance at those businesses clinging to their redundant signage with a doleful smile, much like looking at Video Ezy or United Video after the advent of DVDs.
The Great Tong still does a great range of noodles, soups and rice dishes. They don’t seem to mind when I want to change my noodles to udon or egg noodles on some crazy pasta whim. They also offer rotisserie chicken and plump little pork buns if you are all noodled out.
Well placed takeaways in Greenwoods Corner and you usually only need to wait as long as it takes to read the weekly Coffee Break.
