Obviously these reviews were by employees or the owners friends. I had a penne white sauce pasta dish and you could tell it was made from frozen and reheated ingredients. My boyfriend had the tasteless mushy gnocchi. I’ve had better frozen meals in the microwave. Do not go.

I have eaten here a handful of times and the owner is lovely. He is very professional and quick to find us a table in the full restaurant. The most recent time I went I had the fish of the day and my friend had a pizza and unfortunately I was not very impressed with the food. The previous times I have eaten here and had tried several of the pasta dishes I was not disappointed but also was not raving about it afterwards. Maybe it’s just not my cup of tea as every time I have gone here, it is always busy with the locals. Although the ambiance was great, the wine was good and service prompt, I think next time I would face the drive into town for something else

South Aucklanders, in fact all Aucklanders, this place is an amazing secret. Volare is a family owned and run Italian restaurant in Manurewa, about 25 mins from the city center. As i grew up in South Auckland i heard about Volare through locals who go regularly, they always rave about the food and down to earth freindly service. I must say it does not disappoint. True, hearty Italian meals, and service with a smile! Eddie who owns the restaurant, along with Brother Jo, are always on the floor ensuring that guests have the best possible experience. The members of staff are always very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. As i said previously the food is authentic, the ingredients are always super fresh and of amazing quality. As a huge risotto fan i have enjoyed the Risotto del Giorno a few times, this changes daily depending on the season. The Penne Lope is always fantastic with prawns, baby spinach, capers and a touch of chilli. Don’t be put off by the small drive, this is well worth the trip in my opinion. Be sure to have sober driver as the guys at Volare will insist you have a limoncello before you leave.

What a relief to find a restaurant that not only provides great Italian food but also backs it up with superb service and overall value for money. We dined on a Wednesday evening and the buzz in the establishment proved the popularity is widespread. Great venue

Wow. The biggest five stars I could possibly give. The service here was absolutely exceptional! Let me tell you the story… Last week my mom and sister popped in as they were in the area and had some time to kill. They sat down for a cofffe/hot chocolate, which they said were great. The owner then offered them to stay for dinner but they said they didn’t have time. The owner then said if they returned next time they were in the area they could have today’s drinks free of charge. And so they did. What do ya know… the three of us were back in the area the following week so we came on in. We weren’t too hungry so I ordered the side of veges and both the other two had the calamari entrées. The servings came out pretty darn big.(We think he upped the sizes for us… at no extra charge). Not only this, he then brought us out three small, special free deserts because we were unsure if we wanted to order anything. ANDTHEN… he even brought out some little take away treats to take with. It was all a bit overwhelming really! The experience was too good to explain properly and I don’t think I’m doing it much justice. All I have to say is this is how you manage a business. This restaurant’s about an hour away from my house but I will sure as hell be returning again and again!

This place is great if you live in South Auckland and don’t wanna travel too far for a nice fancy dinner. Right smack bang in the middle of a suburban area, it is truly integrated into the community. Being an Italian restaurant, Volare specializes in the standard Italian fare — pizza and pasta. When we went one quiet rainy night, it was dead but filled up really quickly — we were surprised that when we were leaving, it was suddenly full when it had been empty upon arrival. I haven’t tried the pizza here but the pasta I had was amazing. My partner enjoyed his Risotto, too. It truly is great food. The staff are lovely — we had this one waiter who was really attentive and friendly — he kept coming back to ask if we needed anything — a nice touch. I highly recommend their crumbed Camembert as a starter — YUMMM

Who would have known this sensational restaurant was located in the middle of the suburban areas, The Gardens. Absolutely fantastic Italian! I came here the other night for the first time after having heard many great things; I was not disappointed. We started our dining experience with some garlic bread, YUM! It was delicious. Very large, it comes out like a pizza, with 8 substantial size slices. Next we shared some fabulous calamari, cooked to perfection; and deep friend camembert, AMAZING! Our mains did not fail to live up to our starter and entrees. The mains were massive meals that all came with potatoes and veges. This restaurant has a wonderful feel about it. The staff are incredibly accommodating and really want to make sure you’re getting the dining experience you deserve. I have to rate this place a solid 5 out of 5! I will certainly be coming back to try the pastas, pizzas and desserts!
