Visited this small winery for a wine tasting. Unfortunately couldn’t get a tour. Wine was wonderful. I ended up buying the moscato. Came in handy for New Years

Soljans I believe is one of the first few wineries you come across along the Kumeu winery trail(if you’re arriving from Central Auckland). Usually they say the first is most expensive and least tasty, but not this time. I got the fish and chips which was surprisingly very well made, so was the seared tuna. Wine pairings were also spot on. There’s a courtyard and an adjoining wine shop. Service was efficient and friendly.

Soljans is a great place to have lunch & a glass of wine & not too pricey. The food was good, a decent selection of menu items & they were accommodating to dietary requirements as my friend is gluten & dairy free so it can be tricky! We didn’t try the desserts as we were full but they also looked delicious. Would definitely come back as it was a great experience.

Every now and again I love to get in my car and venture to the outskirts of the city to experience something new and refreshing. One such destination is Kumeu, home of beautiful boutique wine farms. Without too much of a trek, and easily found on State highway 16, Soljans is easy on the wallet and the taste buds. You can enjoy fine dining, excellent service and a dessert that absolutely melts in your mouth. Your fine dining experience will be well rounded off with a visit to the wine shop. You simply can’t visit Soljans without using the opportunity to stock up for the winter months. I can really recommend the port, and for the more daring, the dessert wine, it’s absolutely spectacular.
