Top notch brunch on the weekend. I had a good sausage roll with a salad of my choice, pasta and chives. She had a main of one of the other fresh salads on offer. Quite a neat location too and looks like a good place for kids. The staff were friendly too a greeting when we entered even how rare is that these days. We will be back.

I came here on a whim while I was waiting for my car to be fixed. What a lovely place to just find. This is a multi level, multi room café. Yes it sounds strange, but imagine an old two story house turned into a café. The first floor is the café as seen from the street plus a second room. The upstairs is a room with a big table that could be used for book club meeting and a kids play room. Since I went there on a Thursday around 11 the kids had a loud rowdy command over the second floor. The food: great choices of both pastries and salads. I had the chickens club sandwich with chips, while the bf had a breakfast egg dish. But let me backtrack to my chips — absolutely delicious, like unexpectedly that a café would have some of the best chips I’ve had. The other food was great as well. Luscious café left a very nice cozy feeling with me. I would definitely go back.

Popped into luscious in Onehunga v. Early on Sunday morning while my car was getting a flat fixed. Great giant coffee was just what the doctor ordered n the bagels with lemon curd and jam smelt and tasted amazing. This little café is a step above the others with a large cabinet to choose from and reasonable prices(compared to the my Eden ponsonby café scene) All that’s missing is a nice sunny courtyard.

Really happy to find a café where they sell lactose free milk with their coffees. The coffee is really nice and the food looks good. Would defiantly recommend!

Luscious is the best café(in my opinion) in Onehunga. Been here a few times now, generally take-out. Coffee is «Gravity» which is decent. The staff are extremely helpful and accommodating. Addicted to their bacon & egg pies(mini variety) selling for $ 4.50. Delicious. They do scrummy sandwiches, salads and all the usual counter food. One of my tribe loves the gingerbread rabbits and roosters!:) Definitely a point of difference!

I went here one time with a friend of mine, we had been to Dress Smart and it was on the way to the train station. Inside Luscious is pretty small, white and plain looking, visually it is not exciting. We were only after coffee and wondered where the best place to have it would be, outside or upstairs? Neither myself or my friend were willing to sit upstairs, maybe it was the décor, the smell, the kids play area or all of the above but we decided outside on the sidewalk would be better. The coffee was good, but I would not go here again even if I was in the area. Onehunga lacks the level of café culture that other suburbs have like Grey Lynn, Newmarket, Mt Eden and so on. The Library Café is the best that Onehunga has to offer, that is what Metro Magazine thought too.

This café appears quite small from the outside but they have a little secret… a beautiful upstairs area! I came here with my mum for a girlie afternoon tea and we were both so happy with our treats. I ordered a coffee and a muffin and she had a pot of english breakfast tea and a scone. We ordered down at the counter, they don’t have waiter service but they do bring you your meal when it’s ready. The upstairs in lovely, especially if you can nab a seat by the window. The art they have on display is also great to look at. Their outdoor tables that sit on the street often look inviting when it’s sunny out. There is plenty of free parking on the street which I always enjoy, takes the hassle out of things. The staff are really friendly and the prices are reasonable, can’t really find much to fault with Luscious!

It’s a rare thing for me to get excited about cabinet food but Luscious is different — it’s more of a deli than a cabinet and the salads are incredible. There can be up to 14 varieties at any one time, including such vegetarian delights as Luscious Lentils and Cashew Nuts. and Watercress and Feta Pasta with Walnut and Parsley Pesto. How good, seriously how good, do they sound? They taste every bit as delicious and are also available to takeaway in four different sizes. And don’t worry carnivores, there’s plenty that have meat in them too. In fact, Luscious is a caterer as well as a café and most of their lunch items can be ordered in bulk. How clever. The sweets here are also truly amazing with the Russian Fudge Cheesecake and Limoncello Balls deserving a special mention. Honestly, the food here is SO good and set over two floors of rambling rooms, it’s a relaxed place to enjoy a leisurely lunch. Children are exceptionally well catered for with their own menu and playspace — what’s not to like?
