Horrendous — $ 50 for 2 of undoubtedly the smallest, soggiest French toast breakfasts with undercooked bacon, fridge-​cold banana, and non-​existent maple syrup, a stale scone and over-​spiced Chai. The worst meal at any restaurant I’ve ever eaten at on Waiheke. I’m gutted with myself that I didn’t take it straight back up and demand my money back!

We stopped in here to stock up on breakfast before we started cycling around and partaking of a few wines in the Waiheke vineyards. We ordered the fruit salad, toast n jam and the full breakfast. Everything was beautifully presented. The fruit salad and yogurt was very fresh. A generous amount of bread was given with the jam (some places can be a bit stingy with the bread).
My partner enjoyed the full breakfast, especially the addition of the spinach. The only negative thing was the mushrooms. They appeared the be overcooked and there was not much flavour. However, they were a very small part of the meal, and overall we were both very satisfied and well set up for a day of touring the wineries.

You might be tempted by other places with sea view but no way you could choose better in term of food and wine for quality and price.
Quiche and brownie are gorgeous! We also had a sandwich and a toast and there were good and very cheap. A glass of wine is cheapest than other place around and all the wines are from the island.
We paid just 32 $ where the glass alone is 9.50 $ (other places have a minimum of 11.5 $)
The service is fast, the owner is a very kind and friendly Chilean women.
We highly recommend this place for a quick lunch or just a rest from sightseeing and beaches!

If you are looking for a morning caffeine fix on Waiheke Island, look no further than Spice Café. It’s generally brimming with locals and the fresh aroma of each and every morning. I love nothing more than an early dog walk on the beach, followed by a flat white at Spice. I can also vouch for their English Breakfast tea which is what I ordered last time. The breakfast menu has all of the favourites, always looks great but have to admit I’ve not had a chance to try anything yet. Thanks guys for providing a dog water bowl for our pooches.
