This café is really lucky that it has a gorgeous outdoor area to sit in and pretty good coffee because I received absolutely shocking service. I took the children I nanny and they ordered their milkshakes which were quite reasonably priced and they came reasonably quickly so that was a good start. I had simply ordered a flat white and after 15 mins which is WAY too long to wait for a coffee I went to ask where it was. I was told very rudely that it was coming so I went and sat back down again. After another five minutes a girl came out and asked me what coffee I wanted??? So 25 mins later I finally got my coffee which I will admit was very nice but I didn’t even receive an apology at it’s lateness. I probably will come here again however because the outside area is really lovely, and everyone makes mistakes so I think the staff here deserve a second chance.

I don’t really like this café, even though it is situated next to Palmers, a plant store, which is always handy for a gardening shop and break experience. I think the set up could be nicer, as it is awkwardly designed, from where you order your food and drink to where you sit, it doesn’t feel like there is a flow. And the staff could definitely be nicer too, we had a rude little waitress who didn’t seem like she wanted to be at work at all. Having said that the food was alright, and for a smaller café setting there was a decent(general) selection, though nothing really stood out. And the coffee could have definitely been a bit stronger, but then again I am a fussy coffee drinker. There also weren’t that many options for vegetarians, which I didn’t like.

Bright open spaces with plenty of seating options and delicious café cuisine, not to mention the beverages. We meet up here for a coffee and something brunchy at least once a month. It’s got loads of free parking and a relaxed vibe. The independently owned and operated Arum is situated inside Palmers Garden World to the rear of the complex. It’s a treat to walk through the plants and outdoor garden gear on your way in. The café prices are reasonable and the food is never disappointing. As for the fresh roasted coffee it is one of the best cups in town.
