Such a disappointment!!! No lamb on the menu. The visitor handbook said to come here for the best lamb but they don’t sell it until after lunch. The restaurant staff also said that lamb isn’t served now and only brunch. The restaurant is DEADEMPTY. I WISHWEHADNOTORDEREDOURBEERSBECAUSENOWWEHAVETOSTAYANDDRINKTHEM.

Was delightfully impressed on our recent Sunday afternoon visit. Extremely welcoming staff, a generous menu and plenty of political inference throughout the pub — made it a lovely afternoon. Our meals were delicious.

Start your review. Fun Gastropub to drink at across the street from Parliament. My mum and I had the F&C ’84 which has very tender fish that was battered just right. The Chips were great and just the right texture. The statues of various NZ politicians dressed up in funny outfits including the current PM in a disco suit are a riot. It’s a Wellington institution that I highly suggest stopping by and if you’re around on a Wednesday they shoot the political talk show Backbencher’s at the pub.
