Yesss. You can’t beat this place on a nice day. Great pizza with perfect crust. Solid collection of interesting, if not obscure, beers on tap. Good music and a genuine vibe. Great seat-yourself options, with comfy pillows out on the sunny lawn, covered patio, or indoors. You really kind of need that with the range of Welly weather. Great for hanging with friends or bringing a book. The only thing to be aware of that may(literally) soil your experience is the dog poop on the lawn. Not R&V’s fault or responsibility(tsk tsk naughty dog walkers) but just keep an eye out.

This was a brilliant find thanks to the local family we have in the area. It looks pretty ruff from the outside but that’s all part of the charm, we started off with a round of hawkes bay larger for the table, followed by some seriously dangerous carbs! Between 5 of us we grabbed a margaritaish pizza with bacon curly fries, I don’t mind admitting I inhaled these(but so did everyone else) We sat outside and looked over a sea of beanbags and hipsters and it was a perfect Boxing Day afternoon. For all you Aucklanders looking for a good craft beer, look no further you have found the spot.

Amazing craft beer bar located on the edge of a little city park just over from bustling Cuba St. The beers change often, there’s live jazz some evenings, and the bar sprawls into the park in the warmer, sunnier months. Claim a few beanbags, grab a pint, and soak up the NZ sun for a proper session! Bonus if the mascot bulldog is around to visit you.

Crispy thin crust pizza and a craft beer with the mascot beggin at your feet. I was taken here by my local Welly friend as a top contendor to try local beer and eat good pizza. I’m not a beer fan, so I’m not going to judge. The pizza was excellent. We got the 54 – 46 — Ham, Mushroom, Corn, Onion & Cherry Tomato. Large was perfect to split between 2 for dinner. What really wins me over was Bruce, the pug you see on the sign who wonders around the restaurant. While chilling out in leather bar chairs, he’ll come up to your feet and beg to scraps or to be pet. If he’s well behaved, the store owner will let you take dog treats from the bar and have him give you a high five for one. A great pub to relax at for dinner. Very nice fireplaces for the cooler nights.
