Should have read everyone’s reviews before I walk in and ordered. Thursday afternoon, pretty empty in here and I’m not going to comment on food but jesus, they should give their customers time to read the menu 1st and decide on food. Also when i was billing out, the staff just left the machine on my table instead of helping me to swipe the charge, seriously?

In the middle of Bergen city centre and located close to some of the citys most nightclubs it’s a nice place to grab a burger and a couple of drinks to start out the night! Ate lunch here on a saturday which were quiet busy but they actually managed to find a table for us(Which never would had happend in Sthlm). Have tried their Jack burger before so decided to give the quesadilla a try! A pleasent experience and a big plate, although they could have added abit more cheese! Protip: The free reefill is a godsend and often overlooked service in europe! Great plus! Give it a try even though it’snt friday yet!

The customer service is terrible perhaps due to the summer months being packed and the menu is different as compared to the US. The food is ok, I wouldn’t go to the place again! The portions are smaller in comparison to the ones in US. My husband wanted to go, although in the US it’s not one my favorite places in US; to have veg quesilldia. The only reason he wanted to go was to get the American taste and ambience.

Being from the states this place was a small relief from the typical, bland Norwegian fare. The service was a little better than most places and we could get in and out pretty fast if we were in a hurry. Nothing special, just an ok meal…

I’ve been here several times now and I must say that I will avoid it from now on. The last few times I’ve been there were so disappointing that I couldn’t even remember what was good about it in the first place. What’s good about them? Well, the location, perhaps. The staff is not too bad either. But the most important thing you pay for is, of course, the food and in this case it’s not worth the spend. Tasteless burgers, bad presentation and soggy fries. I mean, come on, SOGGY fries! Now, I must confess that one of the bad experiences was with 10 people at a table and it’s a challenge for any kitchen to serve that many people at once. I was impressed to see a simultaneous serving, but after tasting the food I quickly noticed the kitchen had put quantity before quality. They made the wrong sacrifice in my opinion. The food was plain awful. I don’t recommend going here, unless you want to grab some snacks and drink cocktails with friends.

My boyfriend thought it would be a cool surprise to take me on a date one weekend to this place… ya know, me being American and all. Obviously I was less than amused as TGIF was one of my least favorite places in the US. But I played along with it… Until we were there and I realized this was just a cop-out for American food and restaurant atmosphere. If they are trying to emulate the American restaurant experience, the first thing they should have done was give good customer service. But even that was impossible. I hated paying for this food when in the US at American prices, let alone to pay for this crap at Norwegian prices! But like mentioned in the other review… this place is always packed. I can’t understand it. Most of it is families and teenyboppers. It was loud and crowded… chair to chair and no space to breathe or have a private conversation. In my opinion, if they want to replicate America, they should start by training their employees to give good customer service and steer away from the traditional Norwegian crappy customer service. Go from there and perhaps this place can earn an extra ‘star’ or two.

T.G.I Fridays is a wanna-be American restaurant in the middle of Bergen centre. It always has a lot of customers, something that will remain a mystery to me. There are plenty of better and less exspensive places to go, but still people seem to flock into this restaurant like sheep. I’ve had a couple of mediocre experiences at this place, but nothing I’ll remember. The staff is friendly, but not particularly service-minded(like most places in Bergen). Being such an overly priced place you would expect better service. The food served here is the definition of mediocre, and lacks in flavor. I’ve had a few burgers here myself, and find it astonishing that this place still hasn’t jumped on to the gluten-free wave. MANY places surrounding T.G.I(example: Inside, only 2 minutes away), have this option and make much better burgers for half the price. If you’re looking for an over-priced dinner, lacking in taste, you should go right in. I’d be embarrassed to even call this an American styled restaurant. Save your money and go somewhere else!
