Ganz nettes Angebot, aber einerseits völlig abgehobene Preise und andererseits so dermaßen unverschämt unfreundliches Personal, dass wir hier nur in absoluten Notfällen einkaufen.

Also ich muss sagen in so einem Geschäft war ich vorher noch nie, neben einer Homepage auf der man schon aussuchen kann was lagernd ist und gebraucht wird bietet dieses Geschäft wirklich mal etwas aussergewöhnliches. Das bekommt man in keinem Billa/​Merkur/​Spar, braucht man gar nicht probieren. Ich fand auch die zwei Angestellten nicht unfreundlich, wienerisch halt :) Den einen Stern mehr gibts wenn täglich bis (zumindest) 18:00 offen wäre.

The postitive first: it’s wonderful to find all those Wilton cake products in one place instead of ordering them individually over ebay. The prices are fair. I’ll probably go there again when I’m desperate for some US/​British cake product and I can’t wait for delivery from abroad. The location is great, right at the Novaragasse exit of the Taborstrasse stop on the U2.
But the people who work there are no fun. The lady at the Kassa who seems to be the one in charge doesn’t crack a smile, no matter how hard you try to lighten the atmosphere. She’ll answer your questions alright. She’ll just stare at you in a cold and unsmiling way while doing it. I’m no newbie to Vienese «unfriendly», but this takes the cake, pardon the pun :-) One leaves the store with a feeling of emptiness which is in complete contradiction to the spirit of the cake-​baking culture they are trying to market.
If anyone opened a store with the same products and offered a bit less emptiness and a bit more soul to go along with it, I’d run to them immediately, even if they were much further away. If I can order the stuff on ebay and afford to wait, I will.
The staff are efficient. I just need to go shop at my local Billa or Lidl afterwards to get a dose of friendliness and Viennese charm (yes, that does exist and it’s making a comeback, just not at this store.)
You will get what you need as they have a great selection. It will be at a decent price. And the staff know their stuff. However, you can easily find a more pleasant shopping experience elsewhere in the city.
