Baburu – Bubble Tea

Ich bin schon lange Zeit ein Fan von Bubble-​Tea und habe viele verschiedene in Wien ausprobiert. Letztendlich bin ich aber mit einem nur 100% zufrieden gewesen.
Nämlich dem Baburu! Freundliche Bedienung und absolut schnell. Sehr viele Variationsmöglichkeiten und ständig Specials. Beispielsweise gibt es derzeit ein Halloween-​Special.
Ich persönlich bevorzuge einen heißen grünen Oolong-​Tee ohne irgendwelche Toppings.
Meine Freundin hingegen liebt die ganzen fruchtigen Sorten mit Tapioka (oder wie man das schreibt).
Was ich am Baburu so liebe ist die wirklich große Vielfalt der Angebote und dass man dort stets freundliche Menschen trifft.
Nicht selten war es dann so, dass ich sogar extra hier her gefahren bin nur um einen Bubble-​Tea zu bekommen.
Leider ist ein Bubble-​Tea eine Kalorienbombe weshalb man es dann nicht so auf die Spitze treiben sollte (Nicht so wie ich gleich mehrere kaufen ^^)
Fazit: Wenn ich einen Bubble-​Tea will gehe ich immer zu Baburu! Die Preise sind im Vergleich zu anderen gut und die Größe stets ausreichend.
PS: Im Gasometer hat nun ebenfalls ein Baburu eröffnet.

Das erste Bubble Tea-​Geschäft, das ich hier in Wien kennen gelernt hab. Und bisher auch das beste! Nicht nur wegen der vielen Sorten, sondern grad, weil jedesmal, wenn ich dort hinkomme, das Team dort richtig strahlt, ihnen die Arbeit sichtbar Freude macht und ich mich als Kunde dort super aufgehoben (und bei Bedarf auch mal beraten) fühle :-)
Die Einstellung taugt mir einfach :-)

It seems santitary… the menu is clearly up (although not so clear to read to me, especially when it comes to pricing. Then again, I don’t read German so well, so maybe that has something to do with it… I don’t think so, but I am giving the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the lady told me something verbally, and I didn’t get it). You get what you ask for though I think… I’m not sure what she thought I asked for at the end, but she seemed friendly and at least wanting to help me from behind her counter, which is all this place is. Other than that, I’m not impressed.
1. Way, waaaaaaayyyy too sweet, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too artificial. I mean, how can you make tea taste so artificial? What did they do, hook up to dextrose corn syrup Arizona Ice Tea and added Koolaid?
2. For those of us who knows this as BOBBA, they have more than just bobba, and they have a million options of bad for you stuff to add. I don’t know… I just pointed and tried. I have no idea what it was… I couldn’t figure out the difference in price between one or the other.
3. Dude, took FOREVER… over 3 minutes to get it in my hot hands after I ordered it, without anyone else waiting for their order. When I saw the guy just poured out of huge containers that look like what you use to transport gas in your car, and it tasted so fake, I don’t get the wait, especially when I have my tram coming (its downstairs in the tram area).
Overall, it was a nice to have an icey drink in my hands on a hot day. However, it was so artificially sweetend, that I almost trashed it… but then I did pay 3.40 Euros for it… So its ok, but I am spoiled cause I’m used to the original stuff. I would have been probably just as happy with a cup full of ice water and sugar. And its Austria, so you can know what that means in terms of when they are open… The worst part is its all enclosed in glass, so you can see them all hanging out drinking when they are already closed and you are outside, with your money in your hand, wanting to die due to the heat thinking «must… have… icey… fake… booooobbbbaaa»

This place is called Baburu Wien, and it has three locations:
1. Schottentorpassage (U2 U-​Bahn station, Schottentor Universität)
2. Naschmarkt (Kettenbrückengasse 22, U4 U-​Bahn station)
3. Millenium City Shopping Center (Wehlistraße 64)
I *think* this was the first place with bubble tea in Vienna, at least the first place with any visibility, and it’s still one of the best. As a self-​dubbed expert in bubble tea, I award 5 stars to the Schottentor U-​Bahn location, and I recommend trying any of the traditional milk teas, but especially the seasonal flavors. I tried ginger a few months back and keep getting it — there’s even fresh ginger in it! You might have to wait in a long line depending on the time of day, but I maintain that a good bubble tea is worth the wait.

Haha ich hab mich so gefreut. In der U-​Bahn Passage Schottentor schießen neue Läden ja neuerdings wie Unkraut aus dem Boden. Neben dem 3. Pizzastand, und dem 3. Asialaden gibt es nun. ACHTUNG– Das“Bubble Tea”!!! So heißt der Laden natürlich weil es dort Bubble Tea gibt.
Warum ich mich gefreut habe ist, das ich 2 Monate zuvor genau so einem Laden in Shanghai gestanden bin. Gemeinsam mit einer Thaiwanesin, die mir erklärt hat das dieses Getränk aus thaiwanesischer herkunft ist. Ob das stimmt weiß ich nicht. ;)
Jedenfalls ist das Zeug so irig. Von Honigmelonen und Kokosnuss Milchtee bis alle möglichen Früchte und Schokomilchtees alles dabei. und das wichtigste. BUBBLES!!! :) Das sind Perlen aus Tapioka, der Stärke der Manyokwurzel. Ich glaub man kann auch anderes Zeug reinhaben…
Naja wie gesagt es ist lustig. Schmecken tuts mir nicht wirklich aber ich werde mich vll daran gewöhnen. ^^
