Flatschers Bistrot und Bar

Das Ambiente ist vor allem durch die hohen Wände, die beschrieben Tafeln bis an die Decke und die verschiedenen Sitz-​Ebenen wunderbar einladend. Man kann der Gemütlichkeit schier von den Lederbänken, den Barhockern und den kleinen Tischen beim Plaudern zuhören.
Wer Hunger und Lust auf reinen Männer-​Genuss hat, geniesst den saftig gegrillten Burger mit den selbstgeschnittenen Pommes Frites im kleinen Reindl. Wer das Meer sucht, wird mit der Fischsuppe seine reine Freude haben. Aber merke: Auf keinen Fall den Burger der Begleitung anbieten! Auch wenn Sie zuvor sagt, das sie eigentlich kein Fleisch mag. Denn dann ist der gleich ratzeputz weg.
Und dem zuvorkommenden Service kann ich nur applaudieren. In Sachen Beratung bei Gin & Tonic Kombinationen und bei Nichtgefallen anstandsloser Austausch, kenne ich keine andere Location in Wien. Die 2 für 1 Gin & Tonic-​Aktion ab 23 Uhr ist für Suchende auch eine sehr gute Idee. Und auch das sportliche Geschick beim Ergreifen der verschiedenen Gins aus den Hochfächern oberhalb der Bar ist sehenswert. Congrats!

Flatschers Qualität lässt sich auch im Bistrot kennenlernen. Steaks, Burger und Muschelgerichte sind hervorragend, einer von rund 40 Gins dazu. Perfekter Abend. Eine Reservierung ist dringend erforderlich.

Normally I would say a place needs to earn each star. Luckily this place deserves one for the server that knew everything about their Gin selections.
²⁄₅ for food. Muscles taste like dirty water. But great sauce. Regular burger has frozen meat? It tasted Meh at best. Lastly the bistrot burger, which is slices of steak and BBQ sauce was chewy. Very poor cuts. Only the beef tartar and filet are worth eating. Both flavourful. Although the tartar in France is much better. But we keep this in context to the rest of Austria.
⁰⁄₅ for price. Everything is over priced. Even as much to take all Gins and price them at the same 9.50 option. Umm, who wants a Bombay at 9.50? At least the server knew about them enough to explain what they taste like.
⁰⁄₅ customer quality. Chewy steak in burger, annnndddd the server that brought my meal broke a full serving of Gin and tonic on me. Broken glass, soaked shirt and pants, with even my shoes catching the ends. This is okay, when they know that apologies, paying for a meal, etc. can be done. Instead I stand wet while the server blocks my exit so he can clean the table. Once I convince him to let me by, I return to no apology. Then a full bill with the expectation to tip. :-?
Not really worth your time with the plethora of options in this city…

A nice French bistro lost in the 7^th district of Vienna!
In this little brother of Flatscher’s, the food and wine selection is very good and had some very tasty French specialties! The meat was amazing, the home made pommes frites too, the gambas and scallop shells perfectly cooked and very tasty, and the chocolate eclairs were delicious! (The only minus: the chocolate tart was dense and heavy…).
Plus, the ambiance and décor was great, with some old French songs playing in the background, and the staff was efficient and friendly… and French!

Ya, I didn’t like it.
1. I waved my hand like an idiot in front of the stupid soap foam dispenser in the bathroom, jumping for joy when a little bubble came out after continuous attempts that made me feel like a monkey in some kind of game being caught on camera. Of the two dispensers, only one even had a bubble to provide if you truly insisted. Then try waving your hand like an idiot in front of the paper dispenser and no paper.
2. Just speak to me in French, or German, but don’t ask me in German «ist alles in ordnung… Mademoiselle.» And keep doing that all evening. Seriously, who does that unless you are in a French speaking country, especially if you are not (and she was not) a native French speaker.
3. Flatschers the restaurant has nice burgers. Here at the bistro my friend liked the steak strips one, my cheese burger was dry, small paddy in a huge bun of bread, lettuce leaf looked like it wanted a holiday, and the cheddar cheese, I wonder if it came from a can. Fries were ok.
4. It gets busy so better make a reservation. If you are not in a booth, you sit so close to each other that the waitress cannot even get in between, and leans her behind into your face as she clears the table next to you. Bön appetite Mademoiselle! After our dinner of 14 Euro burgers and 5.50 Euro eclairs (just a normal one, nothing special), we were politely told that if we forced our way to through the crowd to the bar we would get a free drink. Ok, point taken, you want the table and we should shove ourselves in and out quickly. Drink was so acid lemon (not sure there was even alcohol) that we took two sips, and then just went home. By the way, 0.5 mL nothing special local beer above 4 Euros.
Overall: not first date place. Nice setting but you are on top of each other and the place wants you in and out as fast as possible. Danke Monsieur!

Das Flatschers Bistro & Bar ist einfach die kleine, gemütliche Variante vom großen Bruder ein paar Häuser weiter. Das Lokal könnte genau so in Paris sein. Super Baguette, extrem geil die Moules Frites und natürlich hat das Fleisch die gewohnte Qualität und wurde wie gewünscht in der richtigen Gärstoffe serviert. Der Cremant ist ebenfalls nicht von schlechten Eltern, sogar der Champagner Roederer ist zu einem recht angenehmen Kurs erhältlich. Abgerundet durch eine super Bierauswahl (anders als im großen Bruder) mit Brauwerk Craftbier.
Hier werden auch nicht in einem affenartigen Tempo die Speisen serviert wie beim Bruder sondern es geht etwas gemütlicher aber dennoch flott zu! Die Preise sind angemessen, Service ist nett und schnell.
Was gibt es zu kritisieren? Nichts!!! Zwecks der Gemütlichkeit und des langsameren Tempos gefällt mir das Bistro einen Ticken besser als der große Bruder.

Das Essen war wirklich sensationell! Vorspeise: Beef Tartar war genial. Hauptspeiße: Filetsteak medium-​rare perfekt getroffen und sehr gute Fleischqualität. Service war auch sehr zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Alles in allem wirklich empfehlenswert. Preise sind gehoben aber durchaus gerechtfertigt.

Das Flatschers kennen die meisten. Aber jetzt gibt es seit einigen Monaten das Flatschers Bistrot & Bar. Ein kleines französisches Lokal — sehr, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und mit den aufmerksamsten und charmantesten Kellnern die ich je erlebt habe. Die Preise sind zwar etwas gehoben jedoch stimmt die Qualität. Ich hatte die Moules frittes mit Baguette und Remouladensoße und war danach so voll, dass nachspeisentechnisch rein gar nichts mehr ging. Es gibt jedoch auf der Karte noch Steaks und Burger und etliche sehr ansprechende Vorspeisen. Ein gutes Bier, französische Weine und 48! Sorten Gin runden das Angebot ab. Also hin und ausprobieren — vor allem wenn man die französische Küche liebt …

Als Flatschers-​Fan musste ich das neue Bistrot natürlich sofort ausprobieren und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Die Speisekarte umfasst neben diversen Vor– und Nachspeisen hauptsächlich Muscheln, Garnelen, Steaks und Burger — Qualität ausgezeichnet! Das Interieur ist wirklich gelungen und erinnert insgesamt sehr an das Flatschers Restaurant. Es ist vielleicht einen Touch hipper und gemütlicher. Der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich empfehle eine Reservierung, denn gestern Abend (Samstag) war das Lokal bis auf den letzten Tisch voll und einige spontan gekommene Gäste warteten an der Bar geduldig auf einen Tisch. Fazit: Das Bistrot ist wie die kleine französische Schwester des Flatschers. Ähnlicher Stil, ähnliche Speisen, ähnliches Klientel. Dabei steht es seinem großen Bruder in Nichts nach. Wer das Flatschers kennt und schätzt, wird auch das Bistrot lieben.
