IBIS BUDGET Wien Messe

This is a very nice hotel. Well located close to metro stations and rate is very good for what you get.
Very convenient.

I slept in two IBIS budget hotels and I must say you always get a place to sleep, decent breakfast, clean room and a shower (which might be placed in your bedroom, but who cares for a night or two). Never expect something fancy, because it is just not what you paid for. On top of it, this hotel is quite convenietly placed and you can access prater and the centre quite easily. If you just need a bed, a shower, and a breakfast don’t be afraid of choosing IBIS budget!

IBIS Budget is conveniently located at Wien Messe in the 2^nd district of Vienna. the subway is just around the corner and it only takes you about 10 minutes to get to the inner city. Every room has its own private bathroom/​toilet, although the shower is in the middle of the room. And yes, you shouldn’t be shy if you’re travelling with another person! :)
Everything was really clean though and quiet. And for the price of 50AUD per room you really can’t complain.
For breakfast (buffet) you have to pay extra and I think it was 6 euros. There is a huge variety of cheese, breads, jams, hams, yoghurts, muesli etc.
You also have free WiFi in every room. If you just need a place for a night, I would definitely recommend it as the price is the same as for backpackers.

Jaaa, Etap. Irgendwie lande ich doch häufiger bei dieser Kette, weil es günstig ist und die Hotels mittlerweile an vielen Orten auch etwas zentrumsnäher vorhanden sind.
Das neue Design der Zimmer ist allerdings eher gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die Dusche (mit Lichtwechsel) steht mitten im Raum, das Waschbecken ist eher eine Notrufsäule mit wenig Ablagefläche. Die Toilettentür ist eher eine Schranktür, die wenig Intimssphäre zulässt. Obwohl wir das Twinbett-​Zimmer hatten, war eins sehr klar: dieses Zimmer kann man sich nur teilen, wenn man keine Skrupel hat, den anderen auch mal ohne Klamotten zu sehen…
Das Frühstück, für 6 Euro extra, war durchaus vielfältig und gut.
Eins ist klar, in einem Etap-​Hotel macht an keinen Urlaub, man übernachtet und treibt sich ansonsten woanders rum. daher ist es auch okay, leider aber auch nicht mehr.
PS: Wenn Ihr lichtempfindlich seid, dann rate ich dazu, Tesafilm und etwas Karton mitzunehmen. Die Paneele für die Lichtteuerung direkt über dem Bett leuchtet in der Nacht nämlich durchaus kräftig den Raum aus…
