Masta George

Vor der Umstrukturierung und Umbenennung von Burgermasta auf masta George waren die Burger wesentlich besser! Jetzt ist das Fleischleibchen sehr kompakt und es fehlt der typische Fleischgeschmack, ein Zeichen von minderer Qualität.

There was a strong irony to the emphasis on «local». The radio station was American and terrible, but worse yet the concept itself felt generic bio with the local touch literally photoshopped into the pictures on the walls. The staff were certainly not pleased to be there either, as they begrudgingly took our orders and re-​made a cold veggie burger for us. Suspect flavors popped up, promised sauces were later denied in mumbles and the music kept being bad. The ambition is good and a lot of the food is promising but this is a clearly mismanaged locale.

Ob es wirklich der «guteste» Burger ist traue ich mich nicht beurteilen, aber er ist auf jeden Fall sehr gut! Anders als bei McDonalds sehen hier die Burger auch wirklich so aus wie in der Werbung. Kleiner Tipp: Wer mit der Dealrally App kommt bekommt die Limo zum Menü gratis.

Ok, how shall I put this… Once i ended up having lunch in a party-​people area in San Antonio in Ibiza, where they sold burgers either to very drunk or very hungover very young Brits. It was an attempt of a burger. The taste of meat in Masta George reminded me of this very, very poor taste experience. It is ultimately wrong to have the slogan: the best burger in the world. Instead, it should say: cheap, slightly better than McDonalds’, student food. Being among the plenty of burger concepts that opened up in Vienna lately and are spoken of, I couldn’t even have guessed how wrong the decision to taste the food here might be. What I read about their concept was misleading and i was sitting there angry that i was even convinced enough to go. I also thought that it should be OK to just return food in certain places, without having to explain why, just like you do in a clothes shop. I kept eating instead. I am not a student any more and I was looking for a really good burger on that day, so please excuse my frustration. It is nice to see the homemade sauces, but something very integral and bigger than that is missing and you feel it the moment you enter this waste of relatively large place and you taste it the moment you receive your meat. If you want a quality burger, try anywhere else. If you are looking for fast food, break your rules on that day and go to McDonalds instead, wash it down with Coke and at least you will leave temporarily happy.

Im ehemaligen Burgermasta gibt es den «gutesten Burger der Stadt». Also lecker war’s — ich wählte den Burger des Tages mit einer sehr leckeren Hollerlimonade und wirklich guten Pommes (um 7,50 €). Wie bei so vielen Burgerläden erhielt man an der Kasse einen Buzzer, der einen an den Tresen ruft, wenn der Burger fertig ist. Der Burger wird ganz frisch in der offenen Show-​Küche zubereitet — vor allem die Sauce hat mich sehr überzeugt. Das Brot hingegen war mir ein bisschen zu kross, aber das ist sicherlich Geschmackssache.
Wenn man das Menü mit McDonalds vergleicht (so viel billiger ist es da ja auch nicht) muss man sagen, dass man hier nicht nur bequemer sitzt, das Lokal ist ruhiger und sowohl Burger als auch Pommes sind um Welten besser. Wir kommen wieder — gar keine Frage…
