The last review was for the restaurant, and this one will be for the café! We arrived about an hour before closing time and it was entirely empty, but the staff still welcomed us warmly and let us sit down. It is a little more expensive than other places, but it’s the difference of a few pence/cents in the grand scheme. If you’re in Gdansk, you have to sample the traditional goldwasser, and what better place to do it than a café named for the stuff? I wish we could have stayed longer and drank more, especially as it turned out that they don’t sell goldwasser at the airport past security, so if you’re bringing a carry on you will be out of luck in bringing any home! It kind of tastes like jagermeister but with more cinnamon. It’s easy to sip and warms you right up. We had some beers, too, because why not? Were out by 8pm when they shut, but didn’t feel rushed. It’s a good place to stop if you need to rest in the center of town, though I’d recommend finding a place more off the beaten path if you’re able.

This review is actually for the restaurant — there appears to be a small hotel, a restaurant, and a café, all connected. We had a very nice meal at the restaurant — the weather wasn’t fully cooperating so we didn’t sit at an outside table, which would be really lovely. But we had a nice cozy table inside, with excellent food and very good service. Price was on the high side but the quality was good. The sour Polish soup(Zurek) was positively fantastic. Don’t be intimated by the weird sounding description in English! The steak was pretty good, not the greatest. The wine list here was better(and more reasonably priced) than many other places we dined in Poland. overall I would definitely recommend.
