I had their goat cheese and honey and thyme tartine which was delicious but what I really enjoyed here was the FRESHLYSQUEEZEDOJ, you seriously have to try it if you go.

Meh. Yes, the breads are delicious, the atmosphere lovely, the location on Plac Szczepański awesome, and it fills a niche for French cafes in Krakow. I love how some of the breakfasts come with champagne. But the service is crap and the menu is limited — it’s all about the bread. But I just can’t rationalizing going to brunch for an awesome bread basket when restaurants all over the city are upping their game in menu and service offerings. If you like the charm, try Camelot — more variety, better service. If I go back, I would order something hearty and get my money’s worth — a croque madame or monsieur.

Breakfast at Charlotte was so good, I broke one of my personal rules of travelling to new cities and went back to the same place for breakfast two days in a row. How could you not, when freshly baked bread, melt in your mouth croissants, carefully thought out sandwich combinations and homemade jam bursting with flavour await you? You can even have a champagne breakfast here if your heart so desires. I would strongly recommend putting brunch at Charlotte on your Kraków bucket list — try the croque madame or croque monsieur and you will not be disappointed!

Popped in to Charlotte today for some breakfast. We went downstairs which was just as hot as outside as this is where the bread ovens are located. All their bread and pastries are made onsite. The music is pure French and quiet relaxing and the food very good French food. I had an almond croissant, coffee and lemonade. The only thing that lets this place down is that the service was typical Paris café, really bad. I had to go and ask for sugar, knife and folk and find someone to pay at the end. However this isn’t a killer just typical Paris service for anyone English which we love as it’s a bit of game and lets us moan about French people :)

It was better in the beginning and got worse. My 2014 experience was very disappointing. The places seemed to be run by students with a half ass commitment to service, cleanliness and speed of serving. If they don’t care to have me there — I don’t care to go there.

Charlotte is your go-to hip(read French) place in the centre of Kraków. The breakfast and brunch options are worth exploring. During busy times, service can be a bit slow, but if you are not in a hurry that shouldn’t be a problem. Their breads are amazing and they don’t give you a strange look if you ask for more. Must try — The Classic Breakfast, Croissants, Croque Madam Can Avoid — Macarons

Charlotte is a place for the ladies apparently. Usually those who love it are female and those that hate it or are completely indifferent are men. As a man, I wasn’t particularly impressed. I went there for a meeting and the serving staff were too lazy to find out what table we had booked. I wasn’t the only one. Then there was the waiting for the menus. I ordered a croque monsieur(a cheesey oven-baked sandwich). What I actually got was a croque madame. What a crock! It was tasty enough, but it was pretty tough and I felt like I could have done with a steak knife to help in the operation. I would have picked it up and eaten it in mortal man-to-sandwich combat if it didn’t have a effing fried egg on top of it(because the sandwich had a sex-change operation between me ordering it and it arriving at my table). When I went to pay the bill I was charged for the female version of the sandwich(an extra 2 zloty) despite the fact that I told them I had ordered the croque monsieur. French food, french service it would seem

I enjoyed the best Cappuccino of my trip in Europe here with the tasty and large Croque-Madam. I brought a book along and the waiter kindly adjusted the lights behind me for better reading. A quality dinning experience and very gentle to the pocketbook, I may add!

MUST visit in Krakau!

Absolutely delicious. Just a block off the main square and well worth the very short walk. Freshly baked bread on premises and the croissants were to die for. There were 4 of us and we all loved it. Shout out to Natalia who found this gem and invited us to breakfast here. Don’t miss it.

Charlote is vested on Plac Szczepański in the North West of Krakow, approx 5 min walk from the Rynek main square. Plac Szczepanski has been renovated over the past few years and attracted several small nice restaurants. Charlotte is a small«bistro» and serves croissants, tartines, sandwiches, and salads for example. All food is fresh and tasty. Great to have a breakfast with Charlotte. She has lots of fans so hard to meet her sometimes :).

I’ll give it the credit it deserves for the food — but service is a joke — takes more than forever to get the food out. Go on a working Tuesday morning at best — a weekend breakfast will leave you frustrated and hungry.

Dear Charlotte, You were the perfect ending to a fleeting visit to Krakow! Thank you so much for you excellent service and delicious food! I ate with glee through your breads and spreads with a side of a boiled egg cooked just right. Your white chocolate spread was delicious but it was your raspberry jam that made my taste buds extra happy! The coffee was great and your prices to me as a tourist appeared reasonable! I sat upstairs but downstairs there is a lot more space. I would probably sit upstairs as I love looking outside and it is easier to catch the waiters attention(by the way our waiter was so friendly and accommodating!). We all left happy and content, so thank you Charlotte for having us! Till the next time I’m in town, I shall think longingly of your breads and spreads and baked goods. Love, Anna

Charlotte is an awesome place to drop in for a breakfast(even when it’s evening :)). They make their own breadstuff which is brilliant! In combination with home made chocolate spread and jam you should expect your taste buds to explode!

The most fantastic French breakfast place located in Krakow just off the Main Square. It’s a cute place with wooden tables, encouraging communal seating and adorned with fresh flowers. Probably the best item on the menu to take advantage of their own freshly baked breads and amazing homemade jams is the Charlotte’s Breakfast that consists of a basket assortment of bread slices(plus a very tasty croissant) and a choice of one of those spreads. The spread choices include: dark chocolate, white chocolate, raspberry, lavender honey and others. There’s also an option to add an egg for an extra 3zl. If you’re indecisive about which of the beloved spreads to get, one of the best things to do is to go in a group and have a majority order the Charlotte Breakfast and then there will be several of the jams to mix and match. Their coffee is delicious and the other items on the menu — croque monsieur and tartines — also look amazing. One star detracted for the pastries in the front… with many bees hovering over them. The experience and food are still amazing, I just wish they would take care of those pesky bees.

This is a good setting for a simple breakfast of tea/coffee and bread. We shared a bread basket featuring a variety of breads and croissants. It looks as though everything is baked fresh on premises. No complaints.

Stopped in a for a semi-quick breakfast before leaving the city. Pain au chocolate and jambone gruyère were great. Delicious cappuccinos, too. Nice view and feel.

Oh Charlotte, where do I start… You’re a delight to visit. Every time. Weekend or weekday, summer or winter! As long as those sandwiches, chocolate spreads and pots of french breakfast tea are on offer I will come back to indulge in your fine nibbles until my wallet surrenders and I have to spend the rest of my precious student loan on canned soup… But in all seriousness, I always enjoy coming to Charlotte! Even during the busy brunch-time on the weekends when the place is crammed with people: –men with hats reading newspapers –children who run around and their impatient parents trying to feed them their breakfast –trendy chaps with earphones connected to their iPads but disconnected from the rest of us slowly sipping on modest cups of espresso –groups of people on a row of tables raising their champagne glasses in the spirit of celebration …and then there’s me; either alone working my way through a textbook chapter or taking a break from said book with some company. The classic breakfast(bread basket) is a guilty pleasure of mine, with the white chocolate, raspberry spread and lavender honey being my favourites to go with it. The French omelette I am not as big of a fan of because is a little runny, but the open– and toasted sandwiches are nice lunch options(mind you I have never tried the croque madame that everyone seems to go on about…). If it was not for the horrendous price I would also get the fresh orange juice with every breakfast, but I am fearing it might break the bank one day sooooo… I feel that certain limitations has to be set long before thinking of crossing Charlotte’s doorsill! Nevertheless, you’re high on the list of Cracovian places I cherish, Charlotte, just thought you should know.

Aptly located on Plac Szczepanski giving a beautiful scenery both outside and inside. Cozy french with modern décor and ample seating spots both indoors and outdoors, upstairs and downstairs. Perfect for a coffee and some work, meeting friends over a quick bite or just spending a lazy Sunday drinking champagne. Trendy atmosphere but in a relaxed way. Delicious french cuisine for both those with a sweet tooth to more proper food. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, no wonder they do good business!

Breakfast at Bistro Charlotte is simply delicious! The French bistro in the heart of Krakow will mesmerize you. The typical Charlotte breakfast comes with a basket of freshly baked bread, a choice of two breadspreads(different kinds of home-made jams, honey, and two kinds of chocolate bread-spreads), a croissant and a hot beverage. After digging into the bread-spreads they’re sure to make you longing for more — even though you might feel close to bursting. They also offer tartines with goat-cheese, mozarella and the like. Unfortunately the service seemed to be overwhelmed by the hordes of guests, so we had to wait an hour until we were served.
