Focha 42

Focha 42 is a great place to come on a summer evening. The large outdoor garden is the perfect place to enjoy a couple beers and a delicious pizza. For those with little ones, there are always kids playing on the small swing set in the garden. It can be quite busy on the nice summer days and they do not take reservations. The pizzas are excellent, pastas and salads are ok. The servers can be a bit distracted as they maybe slightly understaffed but they are usually quite friendly.

Focha 42 is extremely popular as a restaurant due to its traditional pizza and pasta menu and the availability of free parking (a rarity for a restaurant in Krakow).
If you want standard Italian bistro food it does it well but it lacks imagination for a special meal. On busy days, service suffers.
As I live close, I sometimes come for a quick lunch or a take out pizza but I quickly become bored by it.

Focha 42 is not far from where I live. Everytime I pass by I would see the place buzzing with activities. One afternoonI finally managed to persuade a friend to join me way out here at the end of the Błonie.
Situated alongside a stream, Focha 42 has a very nice outdoor sitting area. I showed up without a reservation though so that was out of the question. Thankfully the restaurant is so large that finding a free table was possible despite a full house. The place used to be some sort of workshop. It has very high ceiling. The industrial chic interior decoration is quite effective, conveying simultaneously a sense of class and informality.
I started out with a cream of zucchini soup and ordered the pizza spinaci as the main dish. Both were competently made but not terribly exciting. The pizza was above average I would say, but I’ve tasted better elsewhere. My friend had the seafood risotto which looked quite nice though the portion was less than satisfying.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Focha 42 over the many Italian restaurants in the Center or Kazimierz. The food is middling but the venue is pleasant. If you happen to be in the neighborhood or if you wish to host a large party outdoor, Focha 42 is a pretty good choice.

Nice building. Rooms are bright and clear. One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been. Last time I was eating carbonara and pizza. Pasta was awesome. Delicious sauce and macaroon. Pizza was on breath-​taking. Pastry was ideal and components was fresh and tasty. Perfect place for children because of special children room. I am completely glad of this place ;)
