Nice ambience. Plain Polish food. Great if you want homely cooking at reasonable prices. i had pork, mashed potatoes and beetroot and my son had chicken wings and chips. We liked the vibe and the waiter was very friendly. We also went upstairs to the cocktail bar afterwards which was a lot of fun.

I’m sure it’s a different story when you eat-in, but for take-away I feel like they are constantly trying to cut corners. I’ve ordered the scrambled eggs about 4 times now, to go. It’s supposed to come with toast and a coffee, as well as all the toppings. I always have to remind them of the the coffee that’s included. And now, 3 out of 4 times they have forgotten the toast that is to come with it, and exclude the bacon that is supposed to be in the scrambled eggs. I worked in food service, I know sometimes you forget, but for it to regularly be like this is disappointing.

Good food, reasonable, very close to our apartment. I would go again for breakfast or lunch.

This is a hip and trendy student café/restaurant located next to the Jagiellonian University. It has a fantastic open space with a high ceiling and a massive arch window overlooking the street and the Planty Park. It’s simply a wonderful place to have a coffee and daydream or people watch. The walls are adorned with simple and modern art using metal strings. The food is simple Polish staples with some international inspirations. The menu includes choices like potato pancakes with goulash. Meat dumplings/pierogi(10 zl) and the Polish sour soup with hardboiled eggs and sausage(8zl). The sour soup really stood out for me and it’s possibly one of the most delicious soups I’ve ever had. Made from fermented rye flour, the so called ‘zurek’, is savoury, hearty and has a mild tanginess that keeps things interesting. If you’re ever in Krakow, you must pay this place a visit. They are one of the only places I found in Poland where you great value, quality, ambiance and service all under one roof(and good WIFI too!).
