Ambasador has expanded their menu. A number of non-fish items are now available. Sadly, they aren’t terribly good. The maczanka looks great but tastes rather bland. The golonka, meanwhile, isn’t freshly prepared and lacks favor. The only decent addition are the zapiekanki. which are casseroles with either pasta or potato. Stick with the dishes under 10 zł would be my recommendation.

Ambasada Sledzia is allways very busy– lots of people there during daytime. We had some drink there after in the evening. Beer was soso guess something wrong with the mixture as the guy behind the bar indicated his beerpump was not functioning 100%. At midnight we were informed that the venue was closed and were kicked out. 10Koeie

I made a few trips to Ambasada Śledzia in my time in Krakow. Despite being way too touristy and constantly crammed, I kept coming back for the cheap booze, good food and cool atmosphere. I suppose the same reasons attract the slew of obnoxious douchey backpackers. You can’t visit this place and leave without ordering the pickled herring(śledź). It is their specialty and for good reason. Herring in mustard is probably the best of the bunch. If cold, raw textured fish isn’t your idea of a chaser, you should try their Polish bites/tapas. All in all, it is a really cool place to hangout especially if you manage to grab a table on the patio.

4 zloty for a shot of vodka or .4l of beer? 8 zloty for herring(prepared in about 6 different ways) and other appetizers? Count me in as a fan! Cheap, fun, open 24 hours a day-how can you beat it? I went with the herring in beetroots as well as the cabbage soup. Try the hazelnut vodka with milk shot. Better than it sounds!

Cool place to grab a shot and some herring tapas. Low prices, good music. This was my favorite bar/restaurant we visited in Krakow hands down.

Once you’re on Stolarska Street, you won’t miss it. It’s the busiest bar on this street. There’s a reason for that. It’s one of, and arguably, the best and most popular, vodka bars in Krakow. Beer or any shot of vodka(most popular are cherry, lemon and clear vodka) is 4 pln. that’s under a pound and a euro, no lie. Any snack is 8 pln. My suggestion is ordering a shot or two of clear vodka with bread with lard(sounds gross, but is absolutely delicious), and pickles. Odd combination? Well, when in Rome… You probably should avoid the lemon vodka. Particularly, if you have an early flight the next day. Mark my words. Na zdrowie!
