On a cold midweek evening in October in the old town most of the restaurants /bars appeared to be dead. Opening the door of this Irish pub was a shock, it is huge inside, lots of separate rooms plus upstairs and it was totally packed full of people. It’s a typical Irish pub with a huge menu including the standard meals(no comment on the food as I wasn’t eating). Mainly a lounge /restaurant place as the bar area was not the usual social Irish affair. The bar area is pretty chilly from the door opening and closing so best to sit in other rooms when it’s cold outside. Friendly helpful staff(even though they were really busy), a very nice place to have a drink after a meal.

Looking for a crazy night in Lublin? Looking for other Americans or expats? Irish Pub U Szewca(or «Shefs» as it’s called by locals) is the place to be! This is an Irish pub with the name of U Szewca, which means shoemaker in Polish. The ceilings inside are completely covered with hanging shoe molds as if this place wasn’t crazy enough! This place is definitely a roaring hotspot for a good night and the perfect place for the first and many more shots of Żubrówka(Poland’s Bison Grass Vodka). Cinnamon spice flavored Żubrówka is actually quite delicious compared to other harsh vodkas and goes great with apple juice to make a yummy drink called Apple Pie. Irish Pub U Szewca is certainly a good spot to stop for some drinks and get warm!!!
