Great Polish food here! My girlfriend and I got two types of dumplings: the Russian style (with goat cheese and potatoes) and the mixed meat ones. Great taste, good texture and brilliant mixture. As mains, I chose Bogol (probably I am spelling it wrong in Polish :)), which is a mix of tender meat with saukerkraut. Ila instead took a potato pancake with mushroom cream. If you are in the old town and you wish to taste Polish food on a budget, go there! I would anyway suggest to take just one dumpling dish to share and the mains: Polish food is great, but kinda heavy and greasy.

Been to Poland a few times and ate many home cooked Polish meals in the past 4years. The food and the ambience at is very homely. It is a great place to go to for a variety of Polish favorite dishes. We had Zupa Grochówka (Polish Yellow Pea Soup), Golonka (Pork Knuckle), Pierogis (Polish Dumplings) filled with forest mushroom, meat and mushroom, cheese and potato. All the dishes were very good.
The restaurant has servers that speaks English and it has English Menu. This is a plus for tourists. There is also kids menu, where portions are smaller and the options are more appealing to kids. Do take note that the restaurant at this location is very small. Approximately 30 person seating. So might be a wait on a busy evening and service is rather slow.

Wonderful place for pierogis. We had great service while we were there. Despite the fact that it’s a chain the pierogis tasted totally homemade and authentic. Very cozy location in the old town.

Had the dumplings for the first time. The beef were very good, even according to DW who is always skeptical about unfamiliar food. Highly recommended! Reasonable price. Good service! Noodle soup starter just right and tasty!

I love this place. I love pierogis! I know this is a chain and probably any self-​respecting Pole would be appalled that we ate at 3 different Zapiecek locations while staying in Warsaw, but I found each one to be filled with locals and tourists alike. Their menu is super easy to read, comes in English, and they even have a pretty awesome kids menu! They have just basic beers but the mixed drink menu has some good vodka shots and their sangria is a winner. I tried several varieties (they have quite a few) of the boiled pierogi and they were all more than up to snuff. We also tried the potato pancake with some goulash-​ish stuff on it and that was pretty good and I fell in love with the cold soup (not the borscht) that is light purple with the chives and egg. If you are a fan of cold soups like gazpacho or vichyssoise and like beets, then you will love that soup. (Sorry I cannot recall the names but the oh-​so-​helpful menu has pictures.) Now I need to look into opening up my own Zapiecek franchise…

I always expect good food from Zapiecek, but this one is my favorite because of the service.
My last trip to Poland I came here three times, and the service was great every time.
Would recommend the Blueberry Pierogi!

Great place… Small with a lovely atmosphere and excellent Periogi… Lots of choice and ridiculously good value

With franchises, it’s always a varying experience. During my first visit I received excellent service and food as well, and it was a pleasure. Great locations throughout Warsaw with quality Polish pierogi that will make you want more the next day.
During my second visit the waitress was sub-​par and seemed not to care for her job at all, but the food was still great and tasty, so at least there’s that.
If you are looking to experience Classic Polish food such as Zurek and Pierogis, definitely stop by here.

Excelente lugar para ir y comer la típica comida polaca: los pierogis. Estos son como una especie de ravioles, con forma de empanadas, y rellenos variados: carne, hongos, jamón, ricota, espinaca, etc. Lo que es genial de este lugar es que hay una opción en la que te traen en la porción de pierogi uno de cada opción, por lo que es posible probarlos todos.
Este lugar es ideal para ir y probar los platos típicos de la cocina polaca. Además, es atendido por mozas que visten los trajes antiguos del país, lo que le da un toque tradicional.
Los precios son normales tirando a económicos, el ambiente es muy bueno, nada lujoso pero agradable. Siempre está lleno, lo que indica que se come realmente muy bien.
Una sola contra del restaurant: pedí una sopa y unos pierogi. Creí que era evidente que la sopa era la entrada y los pierogi eran el plato principal. Desconozco si en la cultura polaca es necesario aclararlo, pero la cuestión es que me trajeron todo junto, y por ende comí frío mi plato principal.

Awesome! I was used to eat here when I was living in Warsaw. Zapiecek is a chain of polish restaurants and I think you can find them everywhere in the city and in the country.
I recommend you to try pierogi and zurek.

Hand made and gourmet pierogies! Get ‘em here. The forest mushroom ones are killer. If it’s super cold outside, make sure to get a mug of sour soupa.

A little touristy but great for first time pierogi-​ers. These little Polish dumplings are delicious, especially the fried ones with meat and cabbage (infinitely better than they sound).
Would probably skip the soups as a starter as they fill you up and the pierogi are very heavy.
We went as a large group and ordered several different dumplings which was a great way to try the local cuisine. If you’re just two maybe go for three sets of dumplings (there are nine in a pan I think) because you probably wouldn’t be able to handle any more.
Very cheap and a fun way to explore the local cuisine if you can look past the waitresses dressed in crazy ‘Polish’ outfits.

Even though the restaurant is part of a larger chain the food is really good. Great value for money, quick service and very tasty and authentic Polish cuisine. You must try their pierogi with wild mushrooms — almost as good as my grandma’s! With high prices everywhere else in the Old Center of Warsaw this is a great place for lunch!

Piroggen! Bei meinem bisher einzigen Warschau-​Besuch bin ich in 3 Tagen
unendlich oft an mehreren der Zapiecek-​Filialen vorbeigekommen. Und da
ich die polnischen Teigtaschen eh gern mag, musste ich da auch mal rein.
Erstmal war es total nett eingerichtet, mit Großvatersessel und
Bücherregal in einer Nische. Ok, die Bedienungen haben eine etwas kurze
Uniform, aber gut ;-) Dafür kamen sie nicht so oft vorbei, war aber
nicht so schlimm, weil es auch so genug zu gucken gab^^
Es gibt
viele Sorten Piroggen, würzige mit Fleisch, vegetarisch (z.B. mit
Sauerkraut und Pilzen), süß (mit Vanillesauce, auch sehr lecker!). Ich war sehr zufrieden.

Zapiecek ist im Grunde genommen eine Kette, die Klassiker der polnischen Küche anbietet. Man findet Niederlassungen überall in Warschau. Vorallem hat sich Zapiecek dem polnischen kulinarischen Heiligtum den Pierogies– verschrieben. Pierogies sind kleine Nudeltaschen, die klassisch mit Kartoffel und Quark (russkie) oder mit Pilzen und Kraut (z kapusta i grzybami) gefüllt sind und entweder gekocht oder gebraten werden. Im Zapiecek werden jedoch noch weitere Füllungen angeboten. Neben Pierogi werden u.a. auch noch Bigos, Golabki (poln. Kohlroladen), Nalesniki (süße und deftige Crepes)
Die Restaurants sind ein bisschen auf neu-​alt getrimmt und bieten eine angenehme Athmosphäre. Man wird am Tisch bedient; Speißekarten gibt es immer mehrsprachig und mit Bebilderung. Der Service ist im allgemeinen freundlich und aufmerksam und spricht in der Regel auch Englisch. Das Essen ist gut und bodenständig.
Für all die jenigen, die einen Einblick in die polnische Küche nehmen Wollen, sei eine Zapiecek-​Filiale empfohlen.

This little pierogi restaurant is just steps away from the Royal Castle of Warsaw and a great quick stop place for some pierogies! It’s definitely aimed at tourists but well done with a cute atmosphere and nice English menu. I thought it wasn’t bad (my Grandma is Polish so I grew up with lots of pierogies) and the pierogies were freshly made and brought out hot. The staff were super kind and welcoming.

Uriges Lokal in der Altstadt mit leckeren polnischen Spezialitäten das bei meinem Besuch mit eigenen Landsleuten gut besucht war (diese Tatsache werte ich immer als ein positives Zeichen).Besonders zu empfehlen waren die Pierogi und die Eintöpfe.

Best Pierogi in town! Smacznego!

Not bad at all! I ate here one of my first nights in Warsaw and got some quite delicious perogies and żurek here. the żurek really was quite irresistible… the perogies were just okay.
The atmosphere definitely was geared towards the tourists and was extremely traditional. But given its location, this was necessary and set them apart from some of the other places.
The wait staff was incredibly efficient and skilled in English. Would definitely recommend to a person from out of town looking for some traditional Polish foods.

Das Zapiecek gibt es in Warschau sechsmal, davon viermal in der Stare Miasto (Altstadt). Bei meinem bisher einzigen Besuch in Warschau stieß ich durch Zufall auf eines der Lokale in der Altstadt. Einladend war der Platz zum Draußensitzen vor dem Zapiecek in der ul. Freta 18. Bei meinem ersten von zwei Besuchen im gleichen Zapiecek probierte ich 9 fritierte Dumplings (Teigtaschen), gefüllt mit Fleisch und Waldpilzen, dazu wurde auf meinen Wunsch eine Buttersauce serviert. Gegen die Polnische Spezialität gab es nichts auszusetzen. Dumplings sollten für jeden Besucher Polens unbedingt die Versuchung Wert sein. Ein Pilsener Urquell 0,5 lt. und als Dessert ein Apfelkuchen rundeten den Besuch ab. Bei einem Preis von 39,97 PLN (weniger als 10,00 EUR) stimmte auch das Preis-​/​Leistungsverhältnis.
Wie schon bei meinem ersten Besuch machte mich auch beim Zweiten ein Polnisches Nationalgericht neugierig. Ich testete ein traditionelles Eintopfgericht, das aus gedünsteten Sauerkraut mit verschiedenen Fleisch– und Wurstarten serviert wird und ein Inbegriff der klassisch-​polnischen Küche ist. Das zu meiner großen Freude sehr heiß servierte Gericht, das den Namen Bigos trägt, gehört in Polen meist zum Standardangebot von Restaurants und wurde mir mit einem Gläschen Wodka an den Tisch gebracht. Auch diesmal durfte ein Pilsener Urquell nicht fehlen.
Zur weiteren Zufriedenheit sorgte im Anschluß an das Eintopfgericht Bigos das Wiedersehen mit einem in Dallas/​USA 1994 kennengelernten Freund, der mit seiner Frau gerade in der Altstadt von Warschau unterwegs war. Warschau ist so groß, die Welt jedoch scheint öfters klein zu sein. Wie sonst lässt sich dieses mit Freude verbundene Wiedersehen im Zapiecek erklären!

With a Polish theme that’s seems to come from another era or someone’s imagination. The waitress have short dresses and wear a corset on top of those dresses. Whether your a tourist or not, it seems to be a good place to eat. A small chain of 4 restaurants, this is one is small but comfortable. They are good value and the best bit is they are very kitsch.
