I came here at night time for drinks with friends. I like that they have a lot of beer on display and all you have to do is simply point to what you want. However, the music is so loud that the person behind the bar pointed to 10 beers before I could point to the one I wanted. Maybe a drink menu would help? It felt like I was back in college with the music choices and the way everyone was dressed. There are large TV screens if you want to watch sports while you’re drinking. Plus a dance floor area.

There’s a magical strip of restaurants and eateries along the highway between Luquillo and Fortuna, and this place is located right in the middle of all the excitement. I had never had mofongos, chimichangas, and decent arepas before, but I knew this place completely nailed these three. It seems like a place where the locals would eat. The mofongo was a great balance of fried plantains molded into a receptacle for tender chicken pieces, while the chimichanga was a burst of flavor surrounded by a nice, crisp tortilla shell. The arepas were filled with some of the most tender and flavorful pulled pork I’ve had. This place is not glamorous, but it has mind-blastingly great food, a bar, TV screens, and plenty of seating — a very solid choice for some simple pleasures in life.

With so many positive Unilocal reviews we couldn’t pass this place up. I went with my 3 teenage girls. Initially, the girls were a little intimidated by atmosphere. It does kind of present as just a bar and not a really fabulous BBQ place from the outside. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming when you enter. We went specifically for the Pig wings which did NOT disappoint! My oldest is a vegetarian and they had a couple of options for her which she was really happy about. The veggie sandwich was amazing! My other 2 really wanted the Mac & Cheese and this was one of the best we’ve ever had! Hot and creamy with lots of flavor. When all was said and done we were full and happy!

Ate here yesterday. We had the«pig wings» and pork arepas. Delicious with a capital D. I guess Mondays are slow so it was a relaxing lunch out of the inclement weather. The pig wings are super tasty Bbq ribs. I may dream about these for a few months, they were amazing. The arepas were great as well. Loved the crispy bread, slaw and pork combo. The beer selection is the best we found in PR. If you are a beer snob, this is the place for you! I love the kiosks in Luquillo, it is usually our last stop on our way to the airport. Try this place, you’ll be happy you did. Oh, did I mention they deep fry the pig wings and then cover them with Bbq sauce? Yes they do!

Oh, Puerto Rico… I’ve done it again — I’ve been drawn-in by the lure of what I thought would be a great dining experience, only to fall victim to the usual problems: poor service, incorrect orders, low quality, and over-priced everything. First night back in Puerto Rico, and our friend wanted to experience the Kioskos. Despite our attempt to dissuade, we eventually found ourselves wandering the Kioskos, looking for something semi-unfried. Call me a snob; I think I’m a purist. When I see«BBQ» I think of: smoked brisket, smoked pork shoulder, smoked ribs, or grilled foods. I don’t think of fried shrimp, pulled pork that’s been fried, fried pork wings, etc. +The place was largely empty upon arrival. Waiter approached — we inquired about beers. — No beer list; waiter didn’t really know what they had available — Went to inspect tap list; more than 75% of taps were out/not-available + Went with the reliable: Medalla Light all the way around = Smallish menu; fairly limited to «basics» — Nearly everything on the menu was fried in some way or another — Exception to pricing: the tiny garden salad had a few cherry tomatoes, a few red onions, and some pre-mixed lettuce($ 7.50) — Shrimp mofungo was pasty; not as good as other places — «Epic burger» had fried bacon, tiny burger, and slab of cheese — definitely not worth the $ 14 price tag. It also arrived about 10-minutes later than the first two entrees. As soon as we switched from Medalla to water, the waiter all but disappeared. Tiny water cups(maybe 4oz?) were initially filled, and then never again. Got the bill, which seemed to be quite high given the fairly low quality of both the service and meal. I’m not sure why people love the Kioskos so much…

I had a blast here. The DJ was playing all the right music. I enjoyed the fact that he mixed it up instead of keeping it to one type of music. The bartenders were so accomedating to my girls and I. They gave us shots on the house. The crazy part is, the drinks are not expensive at all. They have an open bar, pool tables in the back, 4 tvs on the sports channels. They have open tables everywhere. The lounge itself was very clean. The crowd was friendly and most people were dancing. You’ll never have to worry about fitting in because they will make you feel at home

We stopped here after hiking El Yunque and it did not disappoint! I had a few other more traditional Puerto Rican kiosks in mind but it was a Tuesday and they were closed. Thankfully, we lucked out because this was one of the best meals of my trip! We ordered a few things to split: chicken mofongo(because, duh), pulled pork arepas and garlic fries. Our server(who I think was the owner) let us know they were out of pulled pork and wouldn’t have any more for a few hours. First off, I love that because you know they aren’t making it in bulk and just letting it sit around for days to reheat and serve to you. Second off, he offered to put something together for me since I really really wanted to try them. He took the ends from the pork ribs and added those to my arepas and dang were they good! His bbq sauce is outstanding. The mofongo was pretty darn good for an American bbq/Puerto Rican fusion place. Not the best I’ve had but still very good. The garlic fries were delicious as well– if you’re scared of garlic don’t go near these. They were loaded! I love garlic so right up my alley. There was also a super impressive craft beer selection. The price couldn’t be better too– all that, 2 sodas a beer for less than $ 40. Oh and did I mention it had a killer view?

/TL;DR Great find in the Luquillo Kiosks if you want a kind of fusion Puerto Rican flavor. /ATMOSPHERE Covered, open front to back to allow what little ocean breeze to circulate. It’s a cool bar. /FOOD First of all, good craft beer selection. Second, sucks for us cuz none of the beer was cool. Had some kind of refridgeration malfunction. I had an order of pork sandwiches which comes on some kind of crusty, crispy bread. It was good, but the beans that came with it was the best I’ve ever had. It’s a bit pricey so don’t expect street cart dining. /SERVICE We ate at the bar and talked to the owner the whole time. I can’t complain at all about the service. He gave us a lot of recommendations on things to do in the area. HOWTOREADMYREVIEWS: 1 Star — Does not approach edible. Enter at your own risk. 2 Stars — If I’m in the area, I’d pick something else. 3 Stars — I would stop by if I happen to be in the area. 4 Stars — I would pick this place out of other places nearby. 5 Stars — I would go out of my way to dine here.
