WORST PLACE EVER! Terrible service and awful atmosphere. Female bartender is a sexist. She does not serve females. My friends and I stood by for more than 30 mins and she ignored us and served the men around us only. I would never go back. I don’t recommend this place at all. If you are touring, I recommend anything but this place.

If I could write a 0 star I would. WORST PLACE EVER. our «bartender» was sexist and wouldn’t serve any of my girlfriends drinks and just payed attention to the male patrons. She went ahead and ignored us for the rest of the night till someone acknowledged us there and finally got around to getting us a drink. Then we proceeded to be in the middle of a fist fight with the «server» because she was being sexist towards women. Punched our friend in the face and yanked our hairs into a fist fight. Never will I suggest anyone to come here and be treated this way. Maybe when they don’t have sexist servers who think women aren’t good enough for service and only for her to feel superior. Our was short with black hair, maybe late 20−30s. It’s a bar, you’re supposed to accommodate everyone, not cto your interest.

It started to rain so we hopped into the first place we saw. It does look intimating on the outside, but don’t be scared, walk on in! It is located off the beaten bath so it could be tough to find, but we had friendly service, drinks on the cheap (read: 3 local beers for $ 5), full bar offerings and viewed interesting art plastered on the walls. We didn’t stay very long as we were anxious to continue exploring Old San Juan but I think I’ll keep this bar on my list of place to visit if I return, plus it has a cute name!

They have $ 1 Jello Shots. We each spent $ 5, and then headed to the next bar!

We normally go to Ben & Jerry’s when in Old San Juan but there were so many school field trips in town that we couldn’t get in the door.
We stumbled on to La Sombrilla Rosa and took a chance on something new and were so glad we did. From the interesting titled cocktail specials to the local fare, we enjoyed it all.
