I had the playboy roll and my boyfriend had the volcano roll. Both were absolutely amazing. The house special fried rice was great too. The staff were all friendly and spoke Cantonese, Spanish and English! We ended up going again for dinner because the food was so good! We tried the Singapore pan fried noodles and that was equally as tasty!

A change of pace after almost a week of Spanish food was exactly what I needed, this place did not fail. They were quick, the fish was fresh and the saki was great.

Their sushi was absolutely amazing, so delicious. You HAVE to try the sushi pizza and the passion fruit sangria. I dare you to try to refrain from seconds! Friendly service, romantic environment, delicious food!

Don’t judge a book by its cover – this place was SO good! The food was delicious and fresh. Also, Sammy was the best server, and made our experience unforgettable. Bonus: he is an expert at setting up Saki Bombs! We will be back!

I love the waiter, the food is really good. We had a feast(too much really). Tried the tuna tataki, dumplings, a sushi pizza(eel and tuna), Oosoo roll(if your an eel lover a must have), the double spicy and my favorite the Fuji Roll. Plus if you dine-in you get a 20% discount with their vip card.

My first time in Puerto Rico and stopping by this place for sushi was one of the best things I could’ve done! The salmon sashimi was so fresh, it melted in my mouth. The eel hand roll was the biggest and yummiest one I’ve ever had… And I’ve tried plenty before this one. I would eat here again whenever I return to this island.

We came here for a birthday dinner while stuck in Puerto Rico because of weather. It really hit the spot and the wait staff was just as nice as they could be. The sushi was fresh and beautiful! My daughter is a sushi addict and loved each roll she tried. Hubs liked their Singapore Noodle. Highly recommend!

Great food, and service. The sushi is fresh and the cuts are large, the tempura cheese cake is AMAZING!!! We started out trying to find new and exciting foods to explore, yet found ourselves feeling part of the family here. Never ate at a restaurant twice, but here! A need to go place that offers more than sushi.

Large helpings, each order was enough for two. Two blocks off Ashford Ave and worth the 5 min walk. Typical décor. Friendly and fast service. Sushi prices in San Juan are high. Period. So don’t complain about cost of Sushi as it is lower here but high compared to other cities. Seafood veggie soup had scallops, squid and was slightly bland but plenty of seafood and $ 6. Mushroom Chicken dish was really good as was Singapore noodles. It says spicy but could have used 7.5x mote spice. Started with steamed dumplings that were quite tasty. Overall a good value and great alternative to Ashford Ave.

There is no way of giving this place less than five star. It truly deserves one. Amazing taste of sushi and pan fried noodles :) I would definitely come again.

Disappointing, but I’ve added a star because people have told me that«sushi in Puerto Rico is sweet.» As in, sugary. Maybe we were there on an off night, and we had been eating a lot of local salty food prior, but the eel and spicy tuna rolls we ordered tasted sickly sweet. The rice was overly sweet, the eel roll’s sauce tasted like fake maple syrup, and the spicy shrimp roll wasn’t spicy. The seaweed salad was served over chopped lettuce. The miso soup was acceptable in flavor. Like most of the other nearby sushi joints in this part of Condado, it is a Chinese food restaurant and staff. This one is on a nice quiet side street without the sportsbar screens. The restaurant was empty even though our hotel’s 12 floors were full to capacity. If you are a sushi snob like me, maybe stick with local Latin food when in PR.

My boyfriend and I came here based on the good reviews and were pretty disappointed. We were there around 4PM on a Saturday and the only customers. There’s a sign for free valet parking in front but no one was there when we arrived and we sat there for a minute or two. We ended up driving around for a few minutes to park for free on the street on a yellow line(which looks like you can park there in San Juan — totally not the case in NY). Prices on the menu were VERY expensive from what my boyfriend and I are used to in New York(Queens, Brooklyn, LI). It could be similar to New York City prices but I rarely eat sushi in the city so I really can’t comment on that price comparison. I got the one topping sushi pizza(~$ 12) with eel and my boyfriend got the one topping sushi pizza(~$ 12) with salmon along with a spicy tuna roll(don’t remember the price). The spicy tuna roll had too much rice and not much fish. If I’m paying so much money, at least give me more fish! I do have to say that both our sushi pizzas were delicious. Each pizza had approximately a 5 – 6 inch diameter and has no rice. It’s more like this fried flat dough with the topping of your choice on top. You also have a two topping option but that’s $ 1-$ 2 more. Presentation of our 3 food items was very pretty! One thing I found odd was the two waitresses we had contact with barely spoke English. It took awhile to get the check because I guess she misheard when I asked for it. I thought San Juan is a very touristy area so wouldn’t they speak more English? I could be wrong. The waitresses were very nice though. Final total for our 3 food items + Sprite came out to almost $ 40, not including tip. We wouldn’t return because of the really expensive prices and there really was nothing special/unique on the menu worth paying the extra money for.

This place is only redeemable by its service. The service itself is great! They gave us a small appetizer which tasted like deep fried seafood udon? We ordered 4 rolls and it was presented on a boat. It took a very long time to receive our meal, even though there were only 2 other small parties in the restaurant. The food was covered in mayo and the fish wasn’t as fresh as it could be. Still have yet to find a good sushi restaurant in Puerto Rico. The search continues.

This is a pretty good stop for sushi on the island, probably the best place I’ve been to yet. It’s a little bit expensive, but it’s Condado so I suppose it’s not that bad. The spicy tuna roll is delicious, and the salmon roll wasn’t too bad, either. I think with 2 rolls, an order of Crab(maybe it was Krab?) rangoons, and spring rolls, with a few Sapporos thrown in it might have been like $ 60 for dinner… not too shabby. I’ll definitely be back.

Sushi was off the chain. a little pricey and they didn’t give me the sexy green salad with ginger dressing that you usually get at sushi spots but no complaints about the rolls. Explosion roll was good

I just ate here moments ago. The service was friendly the sushi was great and very fresh! Anything with their spicy crab is a dream! I’m used to paying a decent dollar for good sushi, so the price didn’t bother me at all. In Philadelphia where I live, all the sushi is way overpriced and not nearly as good as what I experienced at Sushi City! The valet was also super cool and made sure I got a taxi fast and safely. I will be back!

We came here hankering for something other than heavy meat dishes after a week in Puerto Rico. We were mostly pleased with Sushi City. The food is pretty good. For lunch on a Saturday, we got an assortment of rolls(spicy scallop, salmon, California), the pork dumplings soup, the House Fried Rice, and Buddha Delight, all of which were consistently tasty. The servers were really nice as well. Two things detracted from our experience. First, the place had a slightly overpowering odor of cleaning supplies. Second, it’s very expensive for what it is. For example, most rolls were $ 6.75 to $ 7.50, the Buddha Delight was $ 11 for a small plate of vegetables in brown sauce, the tiny bowl of soup was $ 6, and the fried rice was $ 12 for a small lunch-sized portion. Lunch for five was $ 78 for two adults and three kids, and we didn’t even order drinks or dessert. Plus, we weren’t that full at the end of the meal. If you’re desperate for Asian food, the food here is pretty decent, but you’ll probably find much better values elsewhere.

We must’ve passed Sushi City 8 times on Calle Condado, but never felt the call to try a mixed Asian restaurant in San Juan. I’m glad we finally did. Sushi City also serves Chinese food. Walking by, it always seemed to have the most Asian customers, even hanging outside on the patio at night drinking beers. That boded well. This was not haute cuisine sushi but pretty good. They had most of the rolls you get back home, plus a few unusual ones. For casual dining sushi, prices seem a bit steep for what you get, but the rolls are beautifully plated. The Hamachi Kama, yellowtail jaw, was nicely grilled and tasty, and was definitely worth the price. The restaurant was quiet and service was pleasant. We’d probably come back if we get another sushi craving.
